Btw is it just me or is the anime occasionally just fine and nice, then suddenly it feels like animators ran out of time, took a dump and presented it as the latter half of the episode?

Watching S1E9 as of this message and I can say for sure, you're not the only one who feels that way.

You know, the story about a guilty MC who strives to atone for his past can be pretty good. Good guys coming after him because of his past actions and because he is still morally ambiguous? Freaking great! However, if you're going for that kind of story HAVE THE MC BE GUILTY OF SOMETHING, for d*ck's sake!

Its presented in an overblown stupid way.

Person over defending with a power he (or anyone else) had no idea about isnt punishable since he didnt do it on purpose.. Thou elders reaction to seal basara (or his power) away is kinda legit since if banishing shift is unstable and its in the hands of a kid, thats like having a person with a timebomb without visible timer around.

Having a kid traumatized by people blaming him for something he isnt responsible for can cause hellowa lapses of guilt thou. Even more so if he is a child and gets punished for it in so heavy way.. Anyone who lose a dear one tend to lose their logic and having 100 of those, everyone being like family in a small community, blaming one child, then exiling the kid.. Yeap i can see person getting traumas.

There's not really much of that either... Seriously, I've read plenty of hentai manga with better plot and 'plot' than this.

if you want to skip ahead and get all the ecchi in full colour animation, then go for it. Season 2 is coming soon and will accelerate well into recent LN volumes that are considerably more smutty and lesser in actual plot. A logic-fail imo, but sex sells right? Still, the anime didn't skip too much, mainly cause there is little to actually skip, but the stuff that they did skip was in order to keep it ecchi-harem without making it too complicated and honestly, that's kinda the move to make. There is censored and uncensored though(kinda like how there are two manga versions), and you'd do well to try both because the mode of censoring is damn hilarious and creative. There is also an OVA released short while ago which covered most of a volume. The problem with LN OVAs is that they either condense too much of a novel into one, or they are original scripts that are so bad that they make you want to watch it so as to laugh at it.

I prefer the manga version. This one, not the other one, though the other one isn't really inaccurate.

It really is striking just how much better the manga is compared to the anime; which, to be fair, is little more than a cash grab and exercise in selling blu-rays.

And hell, you'd think with all that, the anime would at least prevail in selling its ecchi, but the manga even beats them out at that, IMO. Who knew?
