The point is moot.  The fact is Zenjirou in this is being SELFISH and only has desires for Aura.  He is in effect spoiling her with his affections.  They are VERY active every night and I'm sure you could search how often one or another of a couple COULD end up with injuries from sleeping side by side every night.  My own wife wakes up with bruises in strange places.  (I'm a very sound sleeper and I don't move around a lot and yet she STILL ends up with them).  Hell, I've ended up with them too and SHE's not a sound sleeper.
 

We have also seen a number of illustrations in the manga if I'm not mistaken that portray him as an active person while sleeping, almost violently so.

This is a world that doesn't have GLASS, so it probably has very little idea about bacteria and how to handle infections other than magic.  Healing is a bloodline magic.  

I dunno about you, but I would be worried myself.  Have to wonder why double beds in parents rooms where a semi-standard...

I'm calling bullshit. Yes, it says he's not a sound sleeper, but I don't believe it's said that this is the reason they need seperate beds. This situation is entirely abnormal, because she expected him to sleep with other women while she was pregnant. Regardless of how much he moves around, he absolutely is not allowed to have sex with her, which is the main issue. I think this was changed a bit from the novel to make it seem like it was his idea? I'm also pretty sure that they continued to be in seperate beds after birth. I'd have to recheck.

 

Even if this was an actual reason, that's just an excuse. Give me a break, isn't she a warrior? Hasn't she fought in battles? If they cared so much about her safety, why would they risk her like that? Apperently sleeping in the same bed as her husband is a greater threat than being in a war. Yea... No.

 

As to the point of this being the only heir to the throne, we now have him born, but the discussion of the latest chapters of the novel show that things will go right back to how they were as soon as she is confirmed to be pregnant again.

Your wording is strange so I am not entirely sure I understood what are trying to say with "double beds", but they are sleeping on two separate beds not a larger bed or two beds pushed up together.

Being a warrior doesn't make you immune to accidents. Plenty of warriors throughout history have had stupid accidents off the battlefield.
Also wartime priorities =/= peacetime priorities. I am not going to go into too much detail as why she or the rest of the royal family may or may not have fought on the battle field because it should be obvious enough COUGH COUGH SPACE TIME MAGIC COUGH COUGH. All we know is that during the war there were a lot more living members of the royal family but she was the only one to survive to the end of it.

You are also clearly way too use to first world country infant survival rates, because in older times with shittier medical technology, infant mortality rates were very high (its still fairly high in less developed countries). It was very common for a child to die within the first few years even among royalty (whether naturally or though intrigue). In their world, it is entirely possible that neither this child or her next will survive to adulthood. Thus her body and its continued fertility is extremely important. Any and all risks must be avoided if possible.

Strong in a fight, skilled in magic, a competent ruler, incredibly beautiful and sexy, etc.; who needs concubines anyway when Aura is pretty much perfect?

Please don't use over-sized images on the manga page cover image, people, it's 400 px max. Even if the system will let you use giant ones you still shouldn't do it, you're giving a lot of people real trouble accessing this page by doing that.

Husbands and wifes don't have to stop sleeping together just because the wife gets pregnant. Sure, having massively dangerous, highly penetrative sex might be risky, but normal lovemaking? Not a problem. In fact, considering how horny most women get during pregnancy, it would be a kind of torment all its own. I mean, Oral at least... silly japanese beliefs in how pregnant couples should act in this story always floors me. So backwards and ancient.

It's less about superstitions here, and more about "how Zenjirou sleeps".

This is why the web novel is such a nicer read over the manga... but I enjoy both... I've been marathoning the web novel for a week now... I'm about to finish volume 6...

I'd say it gets exactly that bad, in terms of intimacy. Separate. Freaking. Beds. Say goodbye to any intimacy for the next year and a half, when husband's wish to be faithful is given up in the face of massive bribes.  She helps ease him mind over being sold as a commodity through the resumption of sex, BUT that's only until she gets pregnant again, then it's back to his own bed. It's basically his purpose to be the breeder stud. I wonder how he would have reacted if this had been properly explained to him right from the start.  "Sure thing, you can just stay at home and impregnate lots of women for the kingdom.""What? I'm gonna be forced to have sex with tons of beautiful women?""Yes""SIGN ME UP" No. Dammit. That's not what he'd say. It'd probably be more like "I'm not really comfortable with that.""It's for the good of the kingdom to have your genes passed on to as many women as possible to help bring back magic to our people.""I understand that, but if I'm getting married, then I want to stay faithful to my wife, that is just what I believe.""Oh. I see, well, I guess this just isn't going to work out then. Bye."

Not exactly but close... it's one of the few selfish things he desires. Until he's really put on the spot around volume 6 in the web novel...

That said, we are both like minded in that we might "currently" jump at that chance, however we are from a different culture if I'm not mistaken and this is semi typical for Japanese... I mean hell, they are marrying 2D characters over there... (real story, look it up) and the birth rate is plummeting... basically he's thrust from a world that could save itself without him, into a world where he's supposed to be a stud. He still hadn't really aligned the truth of how it affects his outlook on how he will live.

I have faith that he'll hare at least two or three others on top of Aura by the time volume 9 or 10 come around. And yes, it might be slow, but change IS slow when you talk about human personality. We get stuck in what "we think is right". Just look st the centuries ... eons of war and conflict between nations as but a "simple example".

To each there own, I still say the web novel is worth reading if you like this story, it delves a lot more into what's happening.

Cause you know, that child is potentially the only child of the last living member of the royal family. Feeling be damned when you are considering the continuation of your country. What if something goes wrong? While there is healing magic, medical technology is no where near as advanced as it is in our world. What if she has a miscarriage and becomes unable to bear another child? No matter how minor or statistically unlikely the probability of something going wrong is, are you willing to bet the future of your ENTIRE COUNTRY on that chance? No person with a sense of responsibility towards either your partner or their country would risk it. 

Edit: TL;DR: 10 Months of blue balls won't kill a man, but a moment of passion can definitely destroy a country.
