What I really like about this manga is that the losing girl gave the first impression of an ignorant, clingy person with a seedy background, but turned out to be the stronger, more honest, straightforward girl. It's refreshing in the romance genre (which is ironic, considering how old this manga is), for the "rival third-wheel character" to not be a "manipulative, lying bitch"

Had to read it again.  It's still a top drawer manga, and if not as fresh the second time, it's still as exciting.  When is someone going to scanlate Hara Hidenori Sensei's next manga?  We've only got four on Batoto so far, and he's written a bunch.  I need my Hara Sensei fix, dammit!

Interesting end.  I kind of like the way it shows, after the big triumph, life goes on.  Not a letdown exactly, although it feels like that for a moment--just, life.

Felt like the end was coming, but not disappointed in the least. Thanks for finishing the series VIS!!!

VIS, thanks a lot for the two chapter ending.  It was a great manga, and you folks did a fantastic job (as usual).  Scanning, translation, English grammar: all superb.  A wonderful ride, and I enjoyed every chapter.

Aaarrgh!  Another cliff-hanger.

Cool, thanks a lot VIS!!

Damnit, Hara-Sensei.  Do you have to kill us with cliff-hangers like that?  That sure is a sneaky way of keeping us coming back for more.

Gah, what a cliffhanger! Thanks for the chapter VIS!

VIS, thanks for the great new chapter.  It really made an otherwise boring Monday a lot better.

Cool, thanks a lot for the new chapters VIS!!

Hidenori is really something. I started reading Hoshi no Furu Machi and I liked the way how true the characters were, their expressions and how simple the story was. But it's truly interesting how it manages to hook up the reader. Now with Regatta I admire the way he writes/draw, I've read it all so far in one day. Thanks VIScans.

Thanks, Village Idiot, for a great chapter that was pure Hara Hidenori humour.  The two double-scull finalists for the olympic team slugging it out at the press conference is great (also great for getting a usually forgotten sport into the news).  As a former rower, I really love this manga (although the love drama part has annoyed me almost as much as Hoshi no Furu Machi's drama did).  At any rate, a great new chapter showing off Oosawa's idiot savant self (as well as his "partner's" similar character).  It reminded me of the author's story Fuyu Hanabi, where the washed-up boxer lured his love interest out of hiding by talking major smack before his last match.  Utterly hilarious and strangely endearing.  Hara Hidenori is a real genius, PLG's "disparagement" of HnFM not withstanding.

Awesome, thanks a lot VIS!!

Hilarious press conference!

Not if they row in lightweight double scull. The danish winning 2012 pair in lighweight, Mads Reinholdt Rasmunssen and Rasmus Quist Hansen, are 183/75 and 173/72.

The japanese pair Kazushige Ita and Daisaku Takeda is also in these specs (180/73 and 178/73) and was 12th/20

Damn those lightweights!

Super new chapter, thanks a lot Village Idiot Scans!!

Wow, with 180-182cm and 70kg the pair are complete lightweights and wouldn't stand a chance in an international competition.

ugghh........too many releases over the last day or so, I totally missed this one. Awesome, thanks a lot VIS!!

Great new chapter.  Thanks Village Idiot, I really love Hara Hidenori's manga.

Yeah. Plus he had his crazy grin. That's always a good sign.

ah, it was always obvious there'd be a turnaround after they declared the win so early!

And the chapters keep coming.  Thanks Village Idiot, for this one and also for plugging away month in and month out all this time.

Very awesome, thanks a lot Village Idiot Scans!!!
