I forgot how much I cried when I finsihed reading it, all the tears from today allowed me to remeber once more. It is a beautiful story, I greatly recomend it.

Is it just me, or do a bunch of chapters have their pages out of order?

He was not really a bad person, or else

Spoiler

There's a huge difference between a guy who's on his deathbed and thinking, "shit, maybe I should've been a better person at life", and someone who actually turns his life around before it's too late. Too little too late for Outarou in this case.

Also, he literally acknowledges that she's a 10 year old at the end and is still in love with her. Good riddance, pedo child-molester.

Just noticed the name's Kanji after finally getting my full set of this in Japan...

Seriously though, who would name his/her daughter with the letter meaning "chaos" (or close to it)?

This manga is so AWESOME!!!

I'm very satisfied with this one. I've read good stories before that left me wanting more. But this manga? I wouldn't change a thing.

It felt so good watching her grow and seeing all these family and community interactions. Everyone feels like they could be real people in a real world. I was surprised by how cool the action was too. Even if you weren't partial to the main story of the manga (which held my interest very well) you should definitely read all the way up to and through the "epilogue chapters" (all 13 of them!). Everything is tied up so well. Just a fabulously crafted story.

And to think I only started reading this because I thought it looked pretty.

I decided to reread this whole manga over again, and hot damn, it's even better the second time.

This series is really a 10/10 for me.

Art, characters, story, and THAT FINALE.

Let me ask you guys something - how many manga have you read that has an ending that'd even comparable to this one? Think about it - the 'Final Battle' finished with thirteen chapters to spare, where most series would gave us only one or two.

We have thirteen chapters of epilogue, wrap up and satisfying conclusions which is more than double most other manga.

To anyone thinking about reading this: YES. Do it! And be careful of the comments below, because they are quite spoilerific!

I agree with you, he seemed pretty human to me, and a bit childish. Also calling him a pedo is a bit much- I do not think he actually knew how old Ran was, you have to remember that he fell in love with the adult looking Ran. I do not think that he ever met the real Ran. He would have probably waited for her to grow up. I am also not sure how old he is supposed to be,

i think i remember reading this, too bad i got turned off by that wierd pedo guy, since its finished might as well try again..

Are we supposed to empathize with that Ou-guy?

He was a manipulative jerk. He saw an opportunity in a naive girl and he took it.
He still was a jerk even though he claimed that Ran changed him (Beating a 10-year old child? Really?).
And even all that "character development" happening about him, I still can't feel anything but irritation for his character.
Even his supposed "change of heart" didn't really do much towards his character.

Am I supposed to believe that a 10-year old girl has these kinds of thoughts around a male adult?

The only one empathizing with him is Ran, and Ran really barely knew his true character outside of that persona he shows around her.

The worst part is the super naive Ran. Ignoring her own family and friends just to meet up with a friend she barely knew who fondles, strips, and kisses her every time an opportunity presents itself?

Ugh, just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

This may be mild spoilers, sorry I don't know how to make it so you can't read it. It's interesting. It's biggest down side is the weirdness with that one Ou-something, who likes Ran, it's kind of squicky. The only thing that makes that a bit better is that he doesn't know she's really a kid. If they'd changed that part of it to something more platonic, i wouldn't have an issue with it. Other than that it's pretty good, although that part of it is throughout the story, so take it with a grain of salt.

such a great manga ruined by having a disgusting asshole pedo male character as a romantic interest. even worse, the manga tries to make us empathise with/have sympathy for such a character. i felt physically sick at his actions and behaviour at times.

truly a great shame to have such a completely repulsive character in such an (otherwise) enchanting and great series.

just another asshole, who happens to be a pedo. why are there so many magnas like this.

Irie Aki captures the surreal mystical concept of sorcery that is hinted at in so many popular manga (ushio to tora, ghost sweeper mikami, inuyasha). In this world, magic has a mind of its own that we must probe, test, change, and use knowledge to make our own. I find this portrayal particularly compelling, because it is the same process that we use in the real world as we learn about science and about people.

This Gray World is complicated, dynamic, and filled with the kind of whimsy that makes life wonderful whether something supernatural is happening or not.

I sleep tonight expecting my dreams to be painted gray.

All I can say is:

For a gray world, this is a really colorful one. <3

That was such a feel-good manga because I feel awesome after reading it!. Awesome ending, awesome everything. Even if its not published in english i might get my hands on a copy

*Clap clap clap clap*

And yet another fantastic manga reached its destination. And I'm really satisfied with its lenght, so kudos to Irie Aki for not needlessy stretching it.

I really love this manga. As other people already pointed out, the manga was really good in every aspect. The characters, the fantasy-setting, the unique art style, the perfect execution of character development, the coziness specially in the first half of the manga, etc. etc...

Irie Aki is a really underrated mangaka in my eyes and I will definitely read her next work.

I wasnt expecting another chapter.

It was a nice touch that adult Ran has a slim figure instead of the hypersexualized one that she had when transformed.

On the other hand that was the shortest skirt ever, luckily magic is there so nothing is revealed. One of the few times where there's a possibility thatbit just isn't the weird manga physics at work.

At the same time like another poster said, she hasn't finished growing up, that hypersexualized form as you said is pretty close to what her mother looks like.

I can't believe its over ;_;.

Ahh, this was a great manga. Everything about it was wonderful, from characters, the plot, the magic... The end is very, very fitting. I don't think it could have been better.

I could have gone on just reading about her every day life but it was a good just ending for an amazing series.
