Suspend your disbelief and you get a nice battle royale between pantheons with some not bad art.

Honestly, save some of the style but this reminds me a lot of Shaman King

Actually kinda reminds me more of Campione.

Sort of.

I only remember glimpses of Shaman King from my childhood but yeah, this is giving me Campione vibes (although a bit more serious than that hilariously bad - but entertaining - series (Erika is still best grill)).

...So, what's the connection between Mikami Kamika and Brynhildr?

It's there, in all of its half-assed glory.

...So, what's the connection between Mikami Kamika and Brynhildr? At least the other chara's names got some relevance with their respective deity, oh yeah, I wonder if human beings also reincarnate in this story, it would be kinda amusing(albeit ironic) to see a hero whose waifu got NTR-ed reincarnates just to know that the same person is now a harem candidate of a god from another mythology altogether

I really want to like it but tis just getting way too weird. Time to lower my expectations...

Where islam.

Good thing ab a hammer is as long as it's a lump of metal, you can use it to bash the shit out of your enemy head. The rest is just the balance.

That Z bend in the sword confuses me... the cutting edge keeps switching sides in different scenes...

It might be a reference to the real god's sword. Ookuninushi is depicted usually with either a cattail sword in the style of the ainu or a Japanese approximation of it. Because the sword is always sheathed, there is debate about whether it is meant to be a katana or a tachi. The cattail sword has a straight blade and a forward bend to its hilt. The earliest tachi also shared this style but with a curved blade (think of the S shape of a shamshir). If you extrapolate this onto his statues and depictions in art, the hilt of his sword always bends forward. This suggests that it's a katana to some people because the katana is sheathed with the cutting edge in the back. However, it could also be an early tachi with the cutting edge facing forward.

Oh I do.  I'm just giving my thoughts on it.  It's enjoyable, but also stupid.

I always thought the strongest Norse God was Vidarr. He kills Fenrir in an awesomely horrific fashion and survives Ragnarok completely unscathed along with

his brother Vali.

The plot of this manga feels like one big, stupid, cringe AF LARP.

This dose appear to be the story the authors going with, but from what I can find (and I'm no expert, mind you), that loki/brynhildr tale isn't "cannon" norse myth. apparently it was a plotline in a 1983 italian comic book.

It's actually not "canon" in that it appeared quite later, and frankly while it may not be this way I tend to treat all "later" stories as non canon(including texts from cultures that are known by the vast majority of people nowadays), also most famous stories of her are also quite "recent", like 13th century, you'd expect a story like this to come earlier, closer to when people were alive. Either way most if not all of these stories are either recent, or there's a large chance these are actual real poems but that were changed along the years, what I have discovered, is that these colections of poems seem to have come from unknown authors, collected by people from the 13th century. What I can imply for this is that few stories survived or were found about the original old norse or old germanic culture. So there's a big chance these independent poems are also different interpretations of a proper story and so on.

But in Brynhildr's case the stories you cited are belived to be based on a real person Brunhilda of Austrasia. it's quite possible that this recent story was also based on a different not that known variant, but that was as far as I could find about it. Although well, all of them com from unknow authors and i'm struggling to find anything from before th 13th century, so everything is a mystery.

Next chapter: Nibelung Valesti.

With sword or bow, ya think?

I wonder how they plan to put a link between a japanese god and a german Valkyrie....doesent make a lot of sense

you don't need to follow most logic and myths, that is the basic rule of a novel....since you would be confused when tracing things.

Agreed, especially for Brynhildr, who was cursed by Odin for refusing to marry Loki. Brynhildr was cursed to stay in Valhalla acting as a waitress for the einherjar, and was only allowed to leave when Odin had a mission to her. It should be pretty much imposible for her to be romantically involved with anyone, at any given time(Not like she would anyway, her former lives were both hell mainly because of that, men and love affairs.).

Feels like 7 chapters are 50 with everything happening so fast...

Where islam.

Judeo-Christian God 2 OP 2 play.

Where islam.

You know that nobody can depict Allah, then can only write his name? You could draw Muhammad but you would receive a bunch of death threats and might get killed.
