Dragon Ball Z references count: 2.

I'm going out of my way to explain as to why my comment wasn't meant to focus on the MC's behavior specifically, and people still comment about why the MC behaves in certain ways. If ya'll trolling, yer some magnificent bastards..

@PieceOfSchmittGames
I'd like to think they spontaneously sprout of tentacles, as well. Surely that'll go well with the sailor outfit.

Well that blew up a bit sideways. derp. My rant about the MC's behavior was more of my way of saying I was dissatisfied with the way the chapter rolled out. The main meat of my rant was about a missed-out opportunity, here.
Instead of creating a complicated mess filled with hilarity due to the peoples' beliefs and over-blown rumors, which the MC could try to resolve directly with silly and absurdly care-free means, the MC pretty much disconnects from it all and just goes straight into his own little bubble, ignoring the world around him as Kawazu narrates to the audience how silly the boy is being. It basically feels like the author had the perfect opportunity to directly have the MC intervene within a given conflict which blew up to absurd proportions due to his own careless actions, and was instead replaced with auto-writing a chapter about how the MC just ignores the world around him and gets goes on an adventure in his own mind, which can apply to any

I like this story, but man, can it be half-assed sometimes.

Spoiler

He simply didn't care about those matters. He's the same with Kawazu, he only care about himself and his close acquaintance, pretty much deliberately cutting himself out from the world's matter. It's not like he feel guilty about the people dying from climbing the tree, he feel guilty that he didn't prepare some rewards for the people climbing the tree.

oh no giants , what a threat , what a cliffhanger , I don't see him surviving next chapter guys, such a sad ending to this story

No, he survives, but it'll be a gay gangbang scene and he'll be wearing a sailor costume

So, for ch28, the MC figured he fucked up royally by accidently giving people a reason to die for...And how does he resolve it? By giving an even better reason for people to climb the tree, and thus increase the number of those who fall to their deaths.
I can't tell if the MC is supposed to be a charming-doofus with a naive soul, or the author is just an idiot. Either way, I felt like the plot-point around the tree was mostly misused. If this was RP, I'd expect some sort of a scandal to emerge around that tree. People to interact with more meaningfully than asking for rumors at the bar, something like a "Royal Court Magician!" investigating the tree and causing trouble for the local folks. People creating complicated, absurd rumors which turn up to be true to some degree.

The fun about re-visiting old places the characters have made changes to, is that you get to re-discover the area, and slowly sink your teeth into each layer that exists because of what they did. In this instance, the MC just figures someone wrote stuff on the tree, people climbed it for reasons, died, so he decided to create further intrigue around it. There was no actual conflict or anything of substance here.

Note: I think it's easy to misjudge, but rather than ranting and shitting on the story, my latter half of the comment is mostly about just how chapter 28's premise was wasted. It's why I feel like the author made a mistake, rather than focus on the MC's intentional personality.

MC wrote that on the tree as a joke, way back in the beginning. He did it for the same reason he is doing the rest of this stuff now, he feels like it.

i thought its a skip chapter... good thing i read the chap.27... was ch27 the blog post thingy?...

Even though most of the fairytale was skipped, getting a bunch of treasure at the end is a massive improvement IMO

The people already thinks that there's probably something at the top, MC adding something there doesn't really do anything.

Also it looks like MC doesn't really care about people dying because of trying to climb the tree, what bothered him more was that the people thinks that there is something up there and that there is nothing up there(why he wanted to add something).

This chapter is the scene from everything with a Tower Climb quest that I've always wanted to see.

Even if he doesn't people would still climb. Most people climb it for the same reason most people climb mountain , because its there. Many die climbing mount everest but people still climb.
Oh shit, giants in danger

Why is 27 gone?

last time i was reading ch 27 it was so glitchy all pages were down with an abnormal error code (see my prev post). methinks they'll upload it once the chapter stops throwing a tantrum and actually behaves for once

Why is 27 gone?

26->28 (???)

Edit: oh wait, the ch. 27 was already gone.

Kawazu is totaly going to get in trouble for his blog. Bet his kindom will find him from it. Though, Sailor soldier is at a much higher risk. She will probably be captured as sooon as the computers make it to her slave drivers kingdom.

Oh God, no, I would rank Hero Union BBS around the level of SAO.

Spoiler

uh this newest chapter..i keep on getting ERROR [10031]

this cockblock is getting annoying.

EDIT: all pages are down. i repeat, all pages for ch 27v2 are down. mayday.

Just in case anyone was wondering:
Suke <-sukebe = lewd -> Lew

If anyone wonders, yes. You should totally go read Hero Union BBS. Even if you found this particular chapter to be dull. It's surprisingly a lot better than you'd normally expect for forum banter...It took me genuinely by surprise.

I liked the chapter. As fun as it is to watch the MC goof about with godlike powers, a change is good every so often.
