That depends, would those people definetly have died if he didn't? Could the organs have been acquired another way? You'd be surprised how many people have a utilitarian view on morality when you get down to it. It would definetly be evil in real life because there would be other options to pursue, but in a hypothetical world where it can be as simple as, would you kill one person to save 10, a lot of people will kill that one person.

What people "would do" in a given situation and what is "good" are not always the same thing.

The issue for me is whether or not morality is an objective quality.  Independent of individual subjective bias.

There are people that can argue: "Well, if you didn't kill that person you're 'effectively' killing those 10 people and therefore you did wrong."  Or they can argue: "Well, you didn't save those people, but it was not your responsibility to do so if it meant killing someone."

Whereas reality could be... that both courses of actions contain some measure of "evil."  Or neither.

There is in medicine the practice of "triage."  Which is to focus resources and time on saving those you believe you can save, while ignoring less viable patients, possibly even harvesting organs from them after they've expired to continue to work on saving others...

But this is also generally only done in an emergency where resources and options are limited.  It also usually does not involve actively killing any of the patients.

If one holds to a subjective morality, whether or not this practice (and the use of it in a given situation) is "good" or "evil" will depend on the bias and perspective of the observer.  On the other hand, if one holds that there is objective morality; such that it exists independent of one's perspectives... we quite simply might not ever know, because we humans are generally limited to our perspectives.

"Good" and "Evil" are possibly very muddled; in part because the same action may very well be "Good" in one situation and "Evil" in antoher... and it doesn't help when one tries to consider the wide variance in what a given individual considers to be "Good" and "Evil."

Though I think it's generally more that a series of actions will almost always have both "Good" and "Evil" in them.

For me, the naivety of arguments that "The Ends Justify The Means" is the foolish belief that if you do enough "good" by the end of it, it counteracts the "evil" done.  When, I think, they simply continue to be present irrespective of each other.  Likewise large amounts of "evil" doesn't counteract a smaller amount of "good."

Just my thoughts though.  I could be wrong.

That last page was something I don't remember, is this a sign of the LN diverging from the WN or an extra arc?

PLEASE DELETE

Just started reading the series. Clumzy and poorly paced, but somehow hits funny. Can I hope for it to get better with time?

Yea the more you study morality the less black and white everything looks. But I would say even that statement is rather absolute. If a doctor kills an innocent person to harvest the organs in order to save 10 people, I think most would consider that act to be evil.

Yes, it would be an evil act and the result cannot be considered "good" either. Even if you save 10 people, you still intentionally killed an innocent one, which is generally considered evil. The act of saving some people does not negate the evil of killing innocents on purpose. This is what I meant by a result being good for some people but not others. The example you gave supports my argument.

To make it clearer, your example is actually 2 actions, not one. The first is the act of killing an innocent, the second is the act of saving 10 people. Most would agree the first act is evil and the second is good.

With how the latest is going. Makoto is going to accept someone soon

In what WN chapter i can continue manga story line?

Between chapter 43 and 44. This current chapter wasn't mentioned in the LN, so you have to make due with that

Here you go: https://isekailunatic.wordpress.com/tsuki-ga-michibiku-isekai-douchuu/

This is the most official guy that translates the LN

And so, a chance for Tomoe and Mio to go on a rampage.....averted

He needs to be deleted. I feel Trashmoki is what the average edgy creepy, rapey isekai fan would turn out like if you let their delusions run rampant.

seems Trashmoki and Bitchbiki are going to be introduced soon.

Honestly, they should have delved a little deeper into Rembrandt's past. Was he only recently killing to advance his career, or was he always this way?

This last chapter insinuates he did try to be legitimate, but couldn't manage. It wouldn't excuse his actions, but would clarify this a little better...

seems to me like a grey line of thought. someting like...Neutral Chaotic alignment? yes.

it also depends where it happened, in a part of the world without near autorithies to act instantly or to actually enforce the law that event could be even respected in their society (the place where 1 was killed to save 10).

No light novel English release I think, but Reigokai translate the web novel one, check novel update if you like, the translated WN is in last arc, so it's way ahead of the manga. The WN itself is completed in country of origin.

The WN is still ongoing in COO and the translated WN is caught up to it.

Oh people arguing that the end justifies the means in the comments, pretty despicable. Most people that support this type of thinking have totally fucked up morals and political leaning.

I work in Legal Aid in my country and I can tell you I would love to live in the black and white world where you must live in.

I've re-read it a couple of times and I'm not sure Rembrandt did anything wrong at all.  My impression is that it was all Morris.  The old "loyal subordinate doing the dirty work he knows the master would never approve of" kinda cliche.  Then again, we only had 1 chapter of flashback and it felt kinda rushed.  So maybe I'm just trying to see too much into that.

his daughter will be sacrificed to a harem MC.

That is karma working there.
