Because the MC isn't that typical isekai protagonist? I honestly always have problem with isekai (and this manga has a lot of isekai cliche), but I keep reading this because the protagonist. He's carefree, ignorance and kind a jerk (remind me of Kazuma from Konosuba) but he has a brain. He refuses to go along and do anything he pursues. I prefer this type of MC than the one that agree to go along with everything. Seriously, this dude SKIP training arc to travel.

He is quite typical as of late. Many authors are trying to make their MCs unique, but at certain point their characters properly copied (with some additions and changes obviously). I'm reading quite a number of WN/LN, so I can somehow compare them.

Kazuma charismatic jerk, but Hiiro is not. Only his bottomless arrogance stands out, when compared to other Isekai MCs (although I once read WN about even worser case).

That was rather sudden. This next arc looks cheesy.

he started as an Innocent Bystander
then he became One Who Follows his Own Path
then The God that Brings Down Little Girls

But in the end he's just your typical isekai hero.

- 1st of all, he's a loner but somehow he always has people to keep him company, that's contradicting.

- Also, he's listed as innocent bystander but he's just another cheat who's too strong to be different. He also actively utilizes his cheat ability to the max like all generic protagonists do.

- he is overpowered and makes the story barely interesting

- you say he acts freely but in the end he's just some 08/15 hero who helps everyone they meet on the way in one way or another;

this is really the point where I have to say that this is making the story uber-generic, it would be nice if he'd let some people die/get abused or whatever just to make him different, this would showcase that he just does his own thing

- he never does anything cruel [at least in the manga, I didn't bother to read the novel where he might've killed people which got censored for the manga release]

 

 

So compared to other novels/novel adaptions, he does exactly what you're expecting from an isekai protagonist, he just has a different personality type from your normal main character. There isn't even some good story behind everything, it's just

: Oh, I've been summoned to a different world with a cheat ability, so I'll travel the world as an adventurer to get stronger and meet more people.

 

If this is just an extended prologue and suddenly everything changes[e.g. the main plot starts when war starts and side characters like Muir die in the process], I'll take this back, but from the current looks it's just another boring generic isekai story.

I'm sorry to say but you're showing quite a bias towards this series, some of your points are actually forced negative interpretations of the actual events. MC does things at his own pace, but he isn't actually a loner. Though he does have some resistance to walking around with others, this is only because they might disrupt his pace.

 

2nd point MC does not start OP, he actually faced many dangerous situations along the way and won some of the fights through sheer strategy rather than just depending on his word magic. Unfortunately, this seems to only apply to the WN as the Manga version had him asspull powers he originally learned through experimentation and by properly getting stronger.

 

3rd point That's like, your opinion man.

 

4th point He helps, but makes he people repay him later on. At first it may seem that he asks for repayment only to hide his embarassment, but he did return to get his payment more than once in the WN, with only 2 or 3 situations where he truly did it out of good will and has shown no desire to see the promise kept.

As for that final point, all I can say is that you're completely wrong in this one, as there is a proper story behind it. You can even see it starting in the background with our teenager Maou and her trusted general Aquinas, Keep following the series and that scene will start to make sense.

I don't know if that's a right decision. He almost got killed by the spider, and he fought a difficult opponent at the cave. Sooner or later he's gonna die if he doesn't have a plot armor. But with that warp skill, I guess he can ran away fast. But a little bit of training while he's travelling is good, to learn more about his skills and escape that Beast territory.

Thank heavens we're finally done with Muir and co. They were more annoying than useful and honestly all their gags and jokes got old ages ago. Hopefully Hiro's new squad will be better.

Eveam always was weak and lacking... wisdom. Yeah, she is a harem subject, but it should not mean that otherwise she should be such useless ruler. She's kinda cute and that's all.
King is battle maniac... which is his good point.
And Rudeus had seeked vengeance. I don't have anything against vengeance, but Rudeus had maked really poor choices on his way... And I don't understand why the human in his right mind would make such choices.
