that was a beautiful scene
This is lovely. I love the whole world the mangaka has built. I don't know much about youkai, but I love the variety. I feel like my exposure to youkai in manga has been pretty superficial (i.e. mangaka uses them 'cuz they're cool, look demonic, are supposed to represent something scary, etc), but I really appreciate how this mangaka includes a sense of what the youkai are really like. They have depth as supernatural beings (though they are definitely given "human" qualities here, as well).
One of my favourite bits has been with the koi swimming up the waterfall to become a dragon. Liked that story in general.
I really want to make Spider and the "Fly" jokes now...
Thanks @amplified for the updates!
This has been getting updated so much recently. Thank you so much amplified for all your hard work!
I never thought I'd want to buy a manga on scrolls until I read this series. ;;;
Ah, I recognized the genus Nephila. My local variant of that, Nephila clavipes, is a beautiful organism. It's fun to see scientific names in web comics and manga, especially when it involves entomology~
Man, this whole comparing-breast-size thing is a manga gag that just won't die.
Even I can see that the art has technical issues, but despite that this is one of the most visually beautiful comics I've ever read. Perfect style for the story, really great choices with the perspectives and paneling.
I read the cat's speech with Sakamoto's voice.

My guess is that it's not going to be a problem. They may live long lives but they're not immortal.
If long-lived youkais' beloved possessions also become yokai after a hundred years, I wonder if that would become an exponential population growth problem?
Thanks for pointing that out. The chapter's fixed now
..aaannnd we here is ready to be roasted! >///<
Goodness... The uncle is hot, the main guy is hot, the fox is hot.... They are all... smoking. =3=
Omomo, this is cute, as is the art! The story is pretty interesting too~ Yay!! Another shoujo to add to my never ending list.
I do remember seeing a lot of Japanese artists having digital art with this kind of shaky linework. Maybe it's just the work of a popular program?
Beautiful manga, thanks amplified mmm...~!
Hypothesis: The line drawings are scans of line drawings the author has done on paper, choosing scanner settings which give bold stark lines that are (relatively) easy to fill in with digital paint tools.
Storylooks interesting even though the scans are a bit janky...lol it's a webcomic so can I even call them scans? Well, just more incentive to visit the original site.EDIT: Nevermind these images are true to the original haha.
