Seeing the chance in the arrival of the legendary squad of mighty soldiers, Ikkitousentai, to a nearby city, she decides to question military about her farther's whereabouts. However, much to the girl's surprise her father appears not to be enlisted in the army. Maika, dejected by this news as well as savage city life, suddenly encounters a burly man falling from the sky. The bystanders name him the Invincible Wolf, one of the Ikkitousentai, and it seems like he knows something about Maika's father! Unfortunately, he isn't willing to tell anything to a civilian. It is now 2016. I believe it is time for a bit of news, yes?
According to baka updates, manga is on hiatus.
If Only first chapter would have a better consistency.
At least that's my take on the story from the first chapter. So far the premise looks quite terrible, let's see how it works out as more chapters will become available.
chapter 3? O.o
The point of a public comment section on this site is to talk about the manga. Like this one:
I'm fine with a few arguments here and there, but this arguement seems to take up the majority of the comments! I mean, whenever any of you see a big arguement in a comment section that seems super serious, doesn't that make you feel a little bit...uncomfortable?
So please, I'm not trying to be mean about it, but could guys have this real talk somewhere else? I almost didn't read this manga because of it. And this manga is really good!
you know what? screw the details, this is just a manga.
There are at least ten chapters out already in the original Japanese.
Not my kind of story, but I translated this chapter as a favor to DreamEater and his crew.
With regards to the historical context, this story is set in an alternative Japan at the time of the Russo-Japanese war (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russo-Japanese_War). The battleships portrayed in the artwork are slightly more modern than the battleships actually used in that time period, and in fact more closely resemble those of World War II. The flying soldiers, of course, are pure fantasy.
Nice story. too bad there aren't many chapters out yet.
My guess is that she gets revealed, yet still gets to stay. =V
kind of messy start.. shes too cute to pass as a man.. there is a big diference betwen a cute boy with a girly face.. and a girl that have such a big cup that cant even hide and to many curves... She even start with the short hair.. so the author dint even use the normal '' i will cut my femenine side to pass as a man'' ( a lots of mangas have this set up '' artisticaly'' well done ) and use the ''im a fighter girl so i strap my boobs so they dunt get in the way with my moves '' ... XD... the mangaka gotit all wrong so far.
i prefer the im a strong girl in a mans world with the obvius reverse harem and bla bla.. than this nonsense of gender bender.
looks promising. putting on follow.
I really enjoyed the manga~~
Thanks for the update~
Normally I'd let this slide, but the fact you are using it to bolster your argument really irritates me. By what stretch of the imagination is this supposed to be set during WWII? The date given is Meiji era 1904. Even if they hadn't given the year itself, the Meiji era ended in 1912, 2 years before the start of WWI, never mind being anywhere near the time period of WWII.

It was never my point that both are the same, Sherlock, reading comprehension fail.
"All writing reflects the writer's ideology. Understanding this and its consequences makes for both a superior writer, and a more discerning reader."
Your "choices" are not mutually exclusive.
For starters, it is not set in an obvious alternate/parallel counterpart to Imperial Japan during WWII. Nice job bringing your totally irrelevant exemple to the table, that really shut me up.
Allegory != Propeganda using allegory
The real question is:
does the author want to rewrite history or to present a story?
On the same note, is code geass a propeganda?
BAM, an allegorical figure symbolizing England used as propaganda against the British Empire.
More to the point, you do realize I used Narnia as an example that "it's fiction" is not an argument? It was a response to your claim, it had nothing to do with my own claim. The books I listed below, however, did (I forgot to add The Turner Diaries). You would do well to check them out.
Now, do you have an actual argument, or will you just keep saying "nah nah nah, you're wrong"? Especially when it comes from a Westerner who would probably not get all the references anyway like a Japanese would, saying "it's not very effective" sound particularily dissonant.
My point is not if it is effective or not, it's still propaganda.
Depends on the military/time period/how badly the war is going. (In this case) The Japanese military during WWII had a pretty terrible track record when it came to record keeping.
Vice versa, towards the end of WWII, Germany kept (fairly) accurate records but effectively threw out the age/medical requirements to fill infantry units.
Yeaaa, don't conflate propaganda and allegory. No matter how you cut it, it's still not a very effective propaganda.
I'm really hoping that the MC will be able to live up to the "Go girl!"-vibe I'm getting from this. If she ends up an eternal weakling who constantly gets saved, I'll be seriously bummed out.
Istant follow.
Awesome art and the protagonist is cute. Followed.
