The dragon might also simply not have existed prior. Basically just coming into existence to house his soul. There seems to be no prior history to the dragon, nobody who knew it before he became the dragon, nobody who even saw it before that.

Because I was literally just thinking about it, I decided to come back and comment. Your reply and the comment you replied to are exactly what I was thinking about.

But let's turn this around. Instead of the current situation, let's say a dragon was "reborn" into another world as a human. If we have this done equally the dragon's soul would either take over a human's (don't know why Chrome says that isn't a word) body that already exists, or a new body would suddenly pop into existence.
If it is the former (and Earth) (and a "first" world nation, i.e. the U.S.) s/he would be considered insane - that is, assuming they could even communicate - not only because they would claim to be formerly a dragon, but also given their reactions to humans (this is assuming it was a world where dragons and humans were anything but friendly).
If it were the latter, they would still be considered insane, until it was discovered that they had literally no background (having been born or entered the country, etc.) After which they would still be considered insane, but investigated and probably experimented on...
Both of these assume that humans could understand them, but since he cannot understand dragons it would be more like some person randomly going insane and attacking everyone around them, looking for a species that doesn't exist.

Remember, he may have content himself with "playing the part" for some time, but in the end he rejoined the human aligned people.

The guy who did this needs to be promoted.

Can't believe this is the first time that I've read this.

I so love series like this! <3
MOAR UPDATES PLEASE!!

AND HECK I WOULD TAP THAT 14-YEAR OLD ELF!

Now I think of it, from another perspective isn't the MC just straight up a wandering soul from a different realm that haunted and taken control of the body's previous owner?

Looking at it this way, it just seems more like an after story of what happens after a ghost story bad ended.

But seriously... why did this chapter come out so late?

It's hard to typeset when you're afflicted with chronic winking syndrome

..He wasn't reborn, the manga implied that he woke up as a dragon, not as an infant dragon, not as a child dragon, as a full grown dragon. You are sure welcome to call that reincarnation or reborn, but that's more like a soul transplant than rebirth...

Irenu... I-Lenu... Elenu... Elaine?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure her name is meant to be Elaine.

behold the pains of practically everyone in the localization/proofreader team: deciding wtf is this in english

That is actually an archery technique fyi lol.

not sure. better ask Nu sensei in YT

KILL STEAL!!!

No, MC is a human that was reborn in a dragon who is now in the body of a human

Aight it's confusing as fuck and we're all weebs so let's not fight on semantics even though that's all that's discussed in these comment sections

And to Ironclad as well.
He wasn't reborn, the manga implied that he woke up as a dragon, not as an infant dragon, not as a child dragon, as a full grown dragon.
You are sure welcome to call that reincarnation or reborn, but that's more like a soul transplant than rebirth. (I.e. he was brought to his current universe and given the body of a dragon) most other reincarnation manga show some of childhood. On the other hand there are plenty of isekai manga where the main character simply appears in their new world, sometimes with physical changes (deathmarch is a good example).

Ok. The main point here is this: reincarnation would give him a childhood growing up as a dragon (with or without others, but still the experience of discovering his new body from a young age) vs what we have where he finds himself in the fully grown body of a dragon and never experiences being with other dragons as a dragon. Had he been raised he might feel something for them, but since he still effectively feels like a human he dies not.
You would think he might be hesitant to kill these dragons immediately considering. I mean he made friends with slimes and even the ogre was trying to make a deal with him.

He started winking again lol

Every time someone mentions the MC's name, I think of Jar Jar Binks.

Spoiler

But the main character is not a dragon, the main character is a human in the body of a dragon (not a dragon in the body of a human). It is actually far more understandable that he fights for humans, which he was originally born as, than for dragons. Regardless, many fictions push that different 'color' dragons are different species of dragon. Different species of carnivores will attack one another if their territory is invaded, heck, even members of the same species will sometimes fight to the death over the invasion of their territory. The manga established that it hasn't been observed or recorded that blue dragons work together so it could be argued that this intelligent dragon is just defending his territory.

That's kinda sick.... The mc is a dragon, but totally okay with hacking apart another dragon it has no personal issues against... just because it attacked a human village....which i'm sure is a common thing for dragons... And for some reason doesn't hear Dragon-speech..... He's still a dragon, obviously, just in the temporary "shape" of a human. He seems willing to hack apart anyone and anything whichever way the wind blows. Not to mention too op..... and does he REALLY need legendary items too?

They should really put copyrights on every damn legendary sword from lores of different countries.. its rather boring to read about caladbolg, excalibur, durandal etc. for the fuckteenth time. Someone.. please... make a legendary weapon name generator and gift it to asian comic authors so they have at least snowballs chance in hell to create unique content when it comes to heirlooms, legendary weapons and artifacts T_T

Copyright ends, if I remember correctly, after 50 years after the creator's death, so for most legendary swords... Copyright ended some 500 years ago...

The series turned to shit the moment he turned human

What a simple problem made huge because MC refuse to insta kill the dragons. Several people already dead as a consequences.

Its like Saitama let other heroes dies in front of him because he dont want to use real power

Also everyone in the story are stupid as fack

There was so much EDGE in this chapter, that I was afraid of getting paper cuts all over. The only thing that was missing, was everyone going "HEH. one eyed wink" at least once throughout the chapter.
It's almost interesting how this story seems to manifest "what 8 years old would think is cool", and totally going with it.

I dunno I feel it could lead to something stupid, but I would have loved to see him try and fucking talk to the dragon?! You know maybe show some interest in one of the only other dragon's he has seen? Or fuck it, whatever.
