I don't see what the complaints are about this series in particular when it comes to isekai. It barely even touches on most isekai elements and definitely relies more on ecchi comedy with hints of romance. Almost everything you see go on since he died could be re-written, easily, to not even be an isekai genre element.

Here's an example: MC was born in this setting and got cursed or ended up accidentally making himself into an onsen with magical abilities. There ya go, you could work that around almost everything we see that way.

 

As far as isekai goes, the dude doesn't really have a harem and he just got a physical body that he can manifest for all the length (pun... not intended...) of a short conversation. And, oh yeah, he hasn't bought a slave yet. And, on a technicality, he didn't run afoul of Truck-kun as far as we know (all he says is the bus he was on was in an accident and he died). And, really, it'd be hard to call him getting turned into a fucking hotspring was a "cheat ability" - if anything, it's kind of a downgrade from being a regular human. And, I can't remember anything about a "Demon King," but maybe I forgot about it - in any case, it's not a major plot point.

 

And, most important of all, this series don't take itself seriously like most isekais and make it a point of advancing the plot. I read this as just another ecchi comedy series. And, even there, it's pretty decent. It's not thought-provoking or a masterpiece... but it wasn't meant to be that. Good comedy, 2D titties - sometimes the simple things in life are just fine.

I think it's pretty damn refreshing as a slice of life manga, but if I was reading the LN I'd probably be stabbing my head with a fork, though.

Yeah, I gotta agree here, just be satisfied with the manga and LN, don't make an anime out of something like that, it's a waste of money.

The fact it thrives shows that "universal public condemnation" is actually a myth and a large group of people enjoy reading such stories. It's the same with shoujo manga with sadists characters and shitty MC and dumb harem in ecchi.

What's worse is that authors don't try at all. They put whole premise in the title, make 1D characters and totally forget that the MC came from another world. It's even more obvious in LNs in which there is not enough pretty pictures to cover lazy writing.

But somehow there are series like Juuni Kokuki and some of the fantasy books from 80s and 90s which could pull it properly.

At least this manga is so ridiculous you can read it as a joke, just like those JoJo x Madoka or Hokuto no Ken doujinshi.
