Description: Hana, a 16 year old who's a bit of a tomboy, is dumped by her boyfriend when she moves to Sapporo after her parent's divorce. On her first night there, she comes across a young guy who is seemingly too ill to walk. He ends up collapsing on her and is quickly rushed to the hospital. As it turns out, he's Hiroto, her next door neighbor.

The next day, when she goes to her new school for the first time, she finds out that he's actually a teacher and that he's the teacher of her class! With his out-going personality and friendly demeanor, he gets along with everyone, but she notices there's something a little different going on between him and Nishiwaki, a classmate of hers who the others write off as a "cold-hearted beauty."

Hana always runs into him on her way to school, and as she gets to know him more, she finds herself falling for him! Things get even more messy when her boyfriend who broke up with her comes to Sapporo saying that he wants to give their relationship another shot!

This was a very pleasant read, despite that the whole thing between Tsuyaka and Hana gave me a bit of anxiety at the start (I mean, how couldn't it? I think I have been spoiled already by love-interest rivals' relationships being more passive-agressive, rather than trying to be more empathetic with each other, I think?), but their friendship's development was quite a nice relief.

To be my first Ikuemi Ryo's manga, I think she is a good storyteller and has really good characters. And her art is quite good, even if this one was from earlier-mid 90s... I really need to check out her other works (I heard good things about Cousin, so I hope I can hop next into it).

The ending was fine, but I am intrigued about the one-shot sequel. I went to check if there was an English scanlation release (as it was published in another series by Ikuemi as extra... but unfortunately, Kodomo no Niwa seems to have been on hiatus or dropped since 2012 :'). I hope someone (or the group themself, even!) would rescue that and/or at least scanlates the one-shot in the close future, though...

Sorry but i can't recommend this. Not at alll!!

Well, Iiked the ending.  Won't spoil it here.  I was expecting maybe another chapter or two still, but now I don't quite understand why I expected that.

Well there is still that oneshot in Children's Garden that we have yet to finish (expect that soon) So its not quite over yet ;)

But yeah definitely Ikuemi Ryou's works are very good. Stiletto Heels works on more work from her, I'm sure they are going to finish those up as well.

Also I know now that Cousin that was licensed then lost the license, was picked up by J-Sis which I know they will finish that.

As for me I'm still working on A Rose Color Tomorrow, I lost my typesetter but I'll continue to fully edit it until the end :)

So of course, look foward for more Ikuemi ^^

Awww I feel so happy and sad having read it all!~
Thank you so much JShoujo and Pink Rose Scans, definitely one of my favorite mangas to have followed. <3

Thanks Jshoujo!  Particularly pleased because so many of this mangaka's things get partly scanlated and then dropped or something and I never find out how they finish.  For that matter, the ones that do end sometimes end pretty inconclusive, so this one's satisfying.

This is where I try to wheedle JShoujo into taking on another one of those now that this one's finished . . .

i'm kind of nervous about the ending now. i'm a few seconds away from starting to read it lol

We make an exception for Batoto cuz we love Batoto!~

:3

Jesus wth is with this guy and leading on underage emotionally vulnerable girls?

By the way, why was this most recent chapter (18) uploaded a week ago?

I believe the scanlaters said no uploading until July 28th (today). :(

How is this new chapter up when it's not even up on the Jshoujo Scans Website?

Im pretty sure I uploaded the chapter at the same time in each reader, ours and batoto... maybe you just didnt read it on the forum?

Omg wait what?? :o

How is this new chapter up when it's not even up on the Jshoujo Scans Website?

Oh no he didn't! Thanks for the release.

Whoa.  Whoa.  Whoaaaaa!

Thanks for the release JShoujo!

I don't get him.

More Ikuemi Ryou goodness, enjoy!

No prob Purple Library Guy, if there were problems, I would like to know about them too so that I can fix the uploads, well ones that were done by our group anyways. ;)

You're right about Ikemi Ryou having a nice soft art style which are very pleasing to the eyes. Her stories are a nice read though she has a habit of having the extra stories come out better than the main story though. ;P
By the way, this is another of those pretty good manga by Ikuemi Ryou; the one I always remember (and hope will get finished sometime) is "Cousin". But her manga all have this style about them . . . somewhat hard and realistic yet laid back, that "slice of life" feel, but with honest straightforward emotions too.
Sorry for being snarky.
I'd just started poking around Batoto, and what was going wrong wasn't anything I've ever seen before on any site from connection problems or slow servers. The page would seem to be there, browser not appearing to still be loading, but the image would be like half blacked out or obscured with weird pixelation covering the whole thing--it really looked more like badly corrupted image files than anything else. But it seems all fine now, so all's well wot ends well.
I read through it and it seems fine to me. If there are multiple partially-loaded pages, it's more likely to be your internet connection/browser/computer than the server, especially since the site only accepts uploads of full archives.
I don't want to be ungrateful, but thought I should point out there are a moderate number of half-pages in this. I know they're complete in the original scanlation because they're complete on other sites. It's good that people are filling the site with content, but if it's incomplete people will just get part way through and decide to finish reading somewhere else.
