I don't understand. How is it possible to hear only UP TO 60 decibels?

Will there be more of it? It's very interesting.

It's actually the threshold. So 60 is the minimum hearing line. Which means above that, they can hear, below, they cannot.
This isn't the only method as well. On top of decibels, there are also frequency considerations. So someone may be able to hear lower frequency noises, but higher frequency noises are lost on them. I'm sitting at 40db at the moment. Gotta love that Army time!

I like reading the top comments. Thank you for including it.

It feels really bad to laugh at the comedy mmm...

Do you mean that you are hearing impaired, and had partial hearing before you became totally deaf? If so, I did mean it in such a way! As said before, I'm just trying to say that deafness does not always include muteness.

Oh snap, sorry for quoting you so late but I totally forgot this comic existed XD

No, I was actually born as a normal hearing person and became impaired at the age of 5, and then much more later I became deaf. Since I use a cochlear implant I don't know how to define myself... deaf or hearing impaired? ò.ò The cochlear implant circumvents the natural cochlea and therefore I hear even better than before (when I used hearing aids), but when I take it off I can't even have a life... ò.ò

Short story short, what I meant with my comment is that I supported yours and provided a real life example.

The lead girl there was born hearing impaired and had hearing aids, and she was taught verbal comminication. I also live in a city with a substantial deaf community, so it just made sense.

It's also possible to learn how to talk while being hearing impaired since birth. However, being unable to hear yourself (and others) properly can lead to weird voice tones or pronunciations.

This second chapter basically describes my university life lmao

I don't know whether to find this cute or depressing.

Comedy is generally about the negativity of life, but Asians in particular seem to create an abundance of actually depressing stories under a veil of "humor"...It's something with their culture to bow, incessantly apologize and have a deep sense of self-deprecation. They attack themselves way too much.
If a person has to constantly go "Aaahh!! I'm sorry!" -- "Aah! Please forgive me!" decks the head against the floor....Yeah. You can't help but feel sorry for the guy.

In Western comedy, when something shitty happens to the self-hating MC, the joke stems from ridiculing whatever made them feel like an ass, and thus defusing the tension from the scenario (at least in theory). In Asian comedy, they tend to ridicule and shrink themselves, as if they are the problem and they need to disappear, which is a little bit more fucked up than the western counter-part.
I read so many instances in Asian literature  (Jap, in particular) in which the author thought it'd be super funny to make their MC as miserable as possible, and then have the MC comment on their own absurdity and misery (tsukkomi), as the author forces them down an even more absurd and miserable road -- I simply don't get it.
It sometimes makes me think that the way Asians process comedy is fundamentally different than pretty much anyone else on the planet. I did find the first chapter to be pretty lulzy, but the 2nd chapter...Eh. It gave me an embarrassed chuckle.

Maybe he could have some kind of "knocking code" with people he knows/works with? So the others would know that it's him coming.

People can learn how to speak before becoming deaf. I'm such a case.

But I am just making this presumption based on the only other deaf-themed manga I've read, Koe no Katachi. The lead girl there was born hearing impaired and had hearing aids, and she was taught verbal comminication. I also live in a city with a substantial deaf community, so it just made sense.

Maybe legally deaf. I think depending on the severity of deafness, deaf people could learn how to speak vocally. Not all of them are mute as well.

I don't know if author is just an asshole or a deaf person with a sense of humour.

The author is deaf.

Wait, how did he say it was lightning? His hands was on the window, so telepathy?
Maybe he wasn't born deaf.

You know you see lightning right?

Also, depending on the severity, you can feel thunder, its also possible that he is not completely deaf.

Sorry fam. Turns out I uploaded an old version so I fixed it.

Not bad. The only problem is that deaf people in general are thrown into a world of hearing. So of course problems arise. The biggest problem would be to find a suitable partner for life (best option would be another deaf person because 99,99% of the hearing people can't use sign language), the other things are situational (they could write things down or use the flag/morse alphabet for communication at work, best would be if they work somewhere where it's so loud that a normal persons hearing would take damage).

In the end, though, they are less challenged than blind or mute people, their only real problem is that they can't enjoy music or natural sounds which are an important part of human life.

That is some heavy bullshit you are writing. I don't know where to even start... so i won't.

I'm not sure either :/

I don't know whether to laugh or cry...

It's funny but a bit sad at the same time mmm...

Thanks for picking it up and translating.

Exactly as the title says. a cute humor about a deaf person(?).

Love the humour.
