Best girl won

So this is what it looks/feels like living in the closet. I didn't know that it was that hard and heart breaking until now.

I was sad that it was Anna who ended up with Shuu and not Takatsuki, but the story felt very real and I really loved all the characters and watching them grow up. The author did a good job of subverting but still exceeding my expectations, no matter how sad the end result may be.

Oh god.

So many brilliant characters, so much laughs and tears. Excellent writing, great characterizations...

I'm so sad to see it go, but I think it ended perfectly. It had a couple minor flaws but the good far outweighed the bad.

Anna, Takatsuki and Nitori are all going into my bundle of 'some of the greatest characters ever.'

Damn. Now I need ice cream and a hug.

this manga kinda failed to handle transgender issues seriously and wtf with their ignorant parents(even though there r a lot of housewife) .

author takes things light!

My gods that was good.

It seems that i can't stop sobbing after reading this great creation of a story, i first starting reading the story about 3 years ago and stopped once I finished reading what they had at the time. Soon I forgot about and suddenly a few days back thanks to the random button i came by it again and reread it again, loved the ending it was such a bittersweet ending yet it felt so real to me... i can't stop crying at all haha ..... i was listening to tihs by accident when i was reading the last chapter it made it worst. But i will not forget about this series anymore, for i shall regret it .

Truely a great manga and mangaka to give us such a wonderful story of life. Its sad to see it end, but i'm confident that the characters will all have happy endings even if there is more hardships for them in life

wow.....
i dont know what to say..
its just..... so beautiful....
thanks shimura sensei, you give us a beatiful story
.
its one of very few times im feeling fulfilled after an ending

All good things come to an end.

I started reading right when the scanlations came out and it's been nearly seven years. At the time, I immediately fell in love with the characters: Shuu, Takatsuki, Chiba, Sasa, etc. And as I aged so did the characters. Characters who I never thought I'd like grew up and I learned to like them, some (Doi) a lot more than others (Fumiya). Characters who I loved grew up and I learned to love them even more. It would take too long to write about all of them so I'll stick to my favourites.

Shuu, at times so determined yet so lost at others. Born into a world that wouldn't accept her, but she found friends who would stand by her, and a girl who she loved that loved her back. Perhaps, that's enough.

Chiba, so awkward and so beautiful. At times, I felt that she was the one that needed the most help. Aside from gender issues Shuu and Takatsuki were normal kids, but Chiba... if Shuu and Takatsuki had never separated what would have happened to her? But she grew up to be a fine young lady... who still threatens boys with umbrellas, but a fine young lady nonetheless.

Anna, sometimes events don't build as much character as they reveal. And in my (totally not biased) opinion, any person would be lucky to end up with a girl as kind, caring, accepting, and beautiful as Anna.

I'm older now, so I don't think I'll ever love characters as much as I loved Hourou Musuko's cast. I'll miss them all.

Well... it was a great read.

Good ending, Obviously their story kinda continues further as they are still alive, but this is a good point to end it.

Love Annas reaction at the end. <3

I don't usually read gender bender stuff but when I read the comments section, I thought maybe I should try reading at least one chapter. I'm at chapter 21 now and all I can say is, I regret putting off reading this manga for so long.

It ended !!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!! THERE IS NO god !

Really glad that Anna will still be with Shuu.

Yup, a good ending, as good as it could be given the story line and all our characters that is.

Oh God...

I can't stop crying!

I don't know about you folks, but in the context of the entire story and the themes that have been shown time and time again, this was a wonderful ending, and I'm satisfied with it.

It... it breaks my heart knowing that I can't read this magnificent manga anymore.

This was a wonderful journey, Shimura-sensei. Thank you! Also, thanks goes to the wonderful scanlators that worked tirelessly to bring these to us. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we appreciate it.

Sigh... this was good.

I'm going to imagine Anna, Nitori, and Takatsuki are a threesome relationship.

Wait, so is there really only one chapter left? Well it's been 10 years, I can't remember when I started reading this but it was probably around 2004 or something and I was really having a hard time back then. I can safely say this manga has helped a lot me at some point.

Well, although it speed up, at least i hope Nitori end up with Anna @@
and
Spoiler

Feels like this is taking up speed for an ending.

Having him write "their Story" sure adds to that feeling. Those things are always done at the end of the story.

I can't help but agree with Doi : the story is getting confusing lately..

Bunch of informations all at once, it is getting faster, we don't have a development for each characters feeling anymore..

Ugh, these two chapters tug at my feels.

I was happy that Takatsuki finally admitted to herself that she likes Nitori, but he has Anna so he's totally rejected. Then we find out Nitori and Anna had sex!? Gah, what happened to my cute, innocent characters (not that I actually mind, ha ha)!?
