Description: |
Ten years ago, a black shape appeared in the sky and destroyed the city below. Kagerou and Momiji were children when the destruction took place, and they have grown together into teenagers beneath the mysterious structure. There is an undeniable attraction between these two friends, but Kagerou is hesitant to confess his feelings because he feels that he is too weak to protect her.
One day, the structure acts again, sending down strange balls that eat people and transform them into monsters. Kagerou and Momiji's encounter that day changes them forever. Kagerou is taken into an organization that explains to him that he is now an "ember," and Momiji is a non-human "dross," useful only as experimental material. Kagerou can't accept this, though, and is determined to do anything in his power to protect the girl he loves. |

you do know this manga is up to chapter 18 right?
Not sure what to say. Back in 2015, I read the first chapter and it seemed rather fun. The beginning is very cliche to the point where I've seen the same beginning so many times. But, cliche it may be, it might still be a gem. It's cliche because we like it. But you can't simply toss cliche over cliche. That gets boring. You need OOMPH as another user says. Or some kind of twist.
Sigh. Another into the gutter.
Is it alive again? ;>
Apparently, someone translated chapter 1 again. Why???
Spoilers for the final chapter, don't read unless you want to be SPOILED
Was looking around Kirei Cake's new web page and noticed they've apparently dropped this series. Any chance someone else is lined up to pick it up yet?
Got axed, eh? Unsurprising. The story doesn't have much OOMPH to it. More like a whimper.
The series ended this month in Shonen Ace, so Volume 4 should be the last one.
Yay, finally scanlated again. I got hyped on it after checking raws.
Don't worry, Momiji will gain some sanity soon.
Thanks for reviving this, Kirei Cake!
Wow...talk about self-cockblock
The note was intended for new readers to not accidentally skip Chapter 2 (magazine), since they might start off with #1onlii's release instead. I'm well aware that the volume has it merged into Chapter 1 .
Chapters 1 and 2 from the Comic Walker serialization were combined into one big Chapter 1 for the volume release. Somewhere around Chapter 5 or 6 in CW they moved the numbering around so it matched the volume, it was kind of confusing at the time. I was using CW rips so I was hoping to just get to the point where the numbering was fixed and it would all make sense, but then the series got really shit so I just dropped it.
tl;dr it's really Chapter 1, not 1+2.
I got a wild thought, don't rebuild a town under a mysterious black alien death sphere that kills hundreds of thousands of people upon arrival. Instead relocate people to anywhere else that there isn't a giant alien presence above.. And don't get complacent about it being there either. I know, crazy right?
yay back from the dead
Besides what was already said by arimareiji, you should also check out Chrno Crusade.
In case you have watched the anime adaptation of it, you should be aware that storyline in anime diverges from manga around vol 5 and they become very different after that point.
Good news: The scanlation may have fallen behind, but it looks like the manga is piling up more material that we'll hopefully see eventually. The raws at Senmanga are up to 12.
If you think Hiniiru is likely to be worth waiting for (though it is kinda early to tell), keep your fingers crossed.
It's a bit old, but one anime/manga that uses this trope in a way that you would appreciate is
If you can't tell, I would strongly recommend it if you can tune out (or like) moderate ecchi. If you watch the anime first, though, please continue on to the manga. They're about the same for the events of the first season, but for the events of the second season you get a much more logical and complete story from the manga.
Ganta gun! Bam! lol
