Depends when you're talking (although, the web, i.e. websites, has always existed in some form). I made it a point to state "high quality" as opposed to merely "original releases". For, back in the day, original releases could be very low quality (either due to poor scanning/ability to obtain raws or since the original uploader shrinks the images so that their uploading wont take years). In short, yes, there was hosting, but it would be a mishmash of quality (depending on who uploaded/the website scraped the manga). It made sense, if each click to go to the next page takes about a second to load (due to bad kbps speeds), it makes sense to post LQ resizes of the original, but that has no place now that most places have at least a few mega bits of speed.

The whole point of this site was: "It's a base for the actual scanlation groups, always providing original (=high quality these days due to faster download/upload speeds) scans".

As an aside (as I've said in the actual shut down thread), people should find if there is any scan  group that merely uploaded here (has no website) and download those. Otherwise it'll become like, say, some doujin scans or old anime torrents where either all links are dead (copyright/website is gone a la megaupload, rapidshare, hotfile, etc.) or your stuck in eternal 41.64% of torrent completion (or the IRC bot which hosts the downloads no longer exists).

Just out of curiosity, what scale are you using there? 1=horrible/will hurt to read/barely readable or 1=eh, good enough? I'm assuming 5=amazing.

Yeah, that's something I should have mentioned, 1 - horrible / will hurt to read, 5 being amazing

But it's all personal judgment, but I have the very long time experience in this aspect to feel like my judgment is on point for majority of people when comparing work to other works.

What saves this manhua is Scanlation Group really and theirs facts page.

For me the most bothering part in Manga's is pacing of story, plot, characters and conversations and To be honest Pacing in most Chinese works is usually bad, that usually triggers me, in this one is good enough/alright 3/3.5.

Still if not for Scanlation Group I probably would left it as a filler piece of work, in between better series or things I am occupied with.

It's after all really average work, no depth of characters or plot, the only aspect that hits my genre are martial arts, super powers and no pussy MC.
