Meh. It started well enough, had potential, but then it just went from bad to worse. There is no story there. Just a just a bunch of episodes of random stuff that are barely connected. When things start popping out of nowhere then you know the author is stumbling along. The transition from one "story chapter" to another is rather abrupt. If I had to pin it on one thing, I'd say lack of character development. The relationships between characters is also very poorly developed. As if hurried. So when the scene that is supposed to cause an emotional response among readers comes, all I'm left with is confusion. Like, surely that can't be it?
I can't really put it all into words, but I felt disappointed. I made it to chapter 27, and I feel like I deserve a pat on the back for making it that far. This manga is not for me.
Man, the beginning sure is screwed up though^^
I mean:
1) MC sees some really weird guy kill off his entire class, including his crush
-->gets attacked and passes out
2) Wakes up in hospital, and all of a sudden they tell him that he is arrested for killing his classmates
seems legit. Class brutally murdered-->let's say the survivor did it
3) Sentenced to death in the deadman wonderland prision
4) The guy who was supposed to defend him also abandoned him
That's one hell of a trauma he went through^^
(Yes, yes, I know, he was actually arrested because of that "branch of sin" and the guy who was supposed to defend him was actually the guy who was running the prison)
Oh, speaking of weird decisions made to imprison the MC at the beginning of the story- Apocalypse no toride has a VERY similar initial situation where the MC also got framed for being the witness of some guy killing some guy (although he only got to see the aftermatch when he was on his way home)
Thought the eyes closed page was the last page... would have been the most awful ending ever.
Well, that was a good ending to the series. Things were wrapped up nicely for just about everybody involved.
I read the last chapter. Wow, Ganta has grown quite a bit taller...and he is heavily scarred.
The raw of the last chapter is out.. also.. add the tragedy tag (im not saying it becouse of the ending).
57th chapter is out. 1 more left ppl!
