This series is interesting, but it has lots and lots of annoying plot holes.

Like for example:
Spoiler

Fantastic read that took a fresh breath in the zombie horde genre and replaced them with terrifying product of humanity, absolutely great at portraying characters and their relationships along with plenty of gore. 5/5

I re-read this for the second time today. I quite like this though I wanted it to continue just to watch the Shingo squad save people every time an outbreak happens. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who thinks that way.

Never ate a bloody rare or medium rare in my life; with the exception of sushi. It's always well done and super dry for me

You're really missing out if you think meat is best cooked well done. You should read some mangas about cooking, almost no restaurant will want to serve you steak well done unless you ask for it. You literally destroy the meat inside. Next time try Medium.

Oh my god indeed. XD

-- butchered for being too long --

Did a marathon on this.

Stereotypical - it's not just American. The artist drew bad people ugly - except for major characters. I dislike this symmetry/connotation: ugly face = terrible person. Especially since this manga' audience is young boys that more easily swayed by outside influence.

Maaya - he got more credits than his due, but so what? he earned some of them, and every story needs a hero or more.

Repetitive arcs - history repeats itself. I think the 3rd arc doesn't make sense though. There is no need to retrieve the loose BM. I'm not talking about napalm strike, I'm talking about that experimental anti-BM sphere that should disintegrate them nicely.

BM don't leave any waste product - BM was created to solve 2 big problems: food scarcity & excess garbage. BM is designed to transform garbage into offspring - feeding the mass.

Attire - I never noticed since I'm fashion-blind. But if Mahiru (10) ran around without one roused something within you, get help man.
(Bad) joking aside, it's hard to find a good read free from (needless/necessary - your mileage may vary) fan-service.
I recommend Gakkou Gurashi to remove the bad taste you feel after reading this one. Please hold your judgement few pages through; (I hope) you'll be pleased.

Overall, after reading the entire thing in a day, It was pretty bad.. It was totally stupid and unrealistic. The characters were okay, but of course very stereotyped (especially all Americans lol).. If you noticed EVERY character that was not an MC was ugly lol.. And every American was a beefy, ugly, aggressive ahole for the most part.. And seriously, Maaya was the MC but what did he ever really do throughout the whole series other than say "cool" and inspirational things LOL.. HE had no special ability to save anyone and didnt really ever do anything. But yeah, the story about BM was just kinda dumb and repetitive. I mean there was basically 3 giant Arcs that were the same thing over and over again. Humans do something dumb and release the BM and the BM just kill everyone.. And Im not even gonna get into the realism of BM and how they could possibly digest hundreds of people in minutes and not leave any waste product lol.. This is more for a person looking a for fun read that doesnt take a story seriously.. For me, Im the opposite, thats probably why I wasnt impressed. Overall its not a terrible story, just not great. Nothing special in my opinion. I mean I laughed more than I thought anything was scary or gross.. All the gore and violence was kinda corny and laughable at best.. And man did I hate Maaya's smile!!!! I wanted to rip that mouth off his face it was soo ugly!!... And lastly what the F was up with the Author and his choice of attire for Mahiru and Kano-Chan?  Did anyone not notice that for the WHOLE 2nd Arc Kano ran around with no shirt on?  And Mahiru ran around without one in the 3rd??(which was kinda sick being she is 10).. I mean what chick wheres overalls with no shirt with their boobs just hanging out in the open LOL.

Man, I love this manga. Just re-read it in a marathon - you can't read this without marathoning. I know this was serialized a century ago, and I'm not sure if the author is even still alive, but would I love a follow-up series.

My Granny says: "If it don't crunch, it ain't dead."

"animal that survives by eating trash, and is then killed to feed humanity." - I was under the impression that this is basically what a pig is.

Hmm no, you might give pigs food you wouldn't want near your plate, but you don't feed plastic, wood or paper to them. In other words, you don't feed them toilet paper, diapers, tampons, sanitary towels and lots of other stuff people use for hygiene or the furniture no one would buy after years of usage, or the old tires of your car, your unusable old pair of shoes...

I could go on all day about stuff you shouldn't feed to pigs and I'm not even a farm boy. After all, humans are great at producing trash.

The little abominations in these manga were created to deal with all the trash an overpopulated world would produce, aside from glass and metal. If anything I found it amusing that in 10 years of continuous splitting and reproducing, the little shits didn't evolve into metal chompers.

ah they shoulda just made the trash into better fertilizer than make such a dangerous omnivore

Pig eat trash? Where did you learn that?

Well pigs DO eat almost anything you throw at them...even trash. But it's still just an exageration.

its weard is it when something bite them they just feeling disgust without even tryin to get rid of it, and its funnier some of them questionin it "this is a joke is it" just how stupid ppl can be the mangaka portray?

I remember reading this in high school until chapter 100 something... I sure did read a lot of fked up stuff

My sister reads Berserk, watches Elfen Lied and Hellsing and is a huge fan of Battle Royale. She's 15 now, saw Elfen Lied a year and a half ago. You have nothing to worry about.

imagine eating rare u.s.b.m steak (with a dormant spore inside). It would eat you back.

That ending... Lawl. Here and now, I renounce my meat eating ways. No more meats from animals, no sir! It's B-M for me all the way. With U-S-B-M for appetizers. Gotta say though, at least the hero and heroine got together in the end, so damn frickin' happy.

sadly, if we feed plastic to a pig, it'll die, not make 6 babies. so while its close, not really.

Well, population problem is not uniform between countries.
Singapore and Japan have been depopulating due to the high cost of living.

I'm not surprise if other 1st world countries share the same issue.

Singapore government has been campaigning for more children - dangling cash and rebates for extra child born - with limited result thus far.

China has been depopulating due the successful 1 child policy.

On the other hand, India's, Philippines' population are swelling.

Disclaimer: without any attempt to insult any particular country

If you live in poverty and most entertainments are beyond reach, the act of producing babies is entertainment enough.

Uh, well, small problem, buddy. I mean, you make some good points and all, but how exactly are we going to get the population to decrease, when we're up against basic human instinct and the natural desire to help take care of each other?

I sure as hell don't want to volunteer for voluntary population reduction. Would you?

And uh, don't quite feel the thought of cows and pigs being B-M just because they eat a protein meal made from meats. Still a long way from rapidly-evolving, human-toothed sea-stars from hell.

Voluntary population reduction is as simple as not having kids or having only one per couple. Which is quiet a normal option for people to choose nowadays. I certainly did.

Not having kids frees up your finances in many ways, allows you and partner to have much more fun and a better relationship and gives you many more opportunities (you're not chained to daycare's and schools, you feel freer to take a dream job that pays less instead of something that crushes your soul to feed your family, holiday trips can be more interesting without having to pile a bunch of annoying children into an ugly gas guzzler and sit through several hours of bitching/whining/crying before finally arriving at some ridiculously boring location for an adult, you still have "free time" etc.).

It is honestly more confusing to me why people would choose to have lots of kids nowadays than none at all. Choosing not to have kids doesn't mean you abstain from sex (in fact childless couples have a lot more of it throughout the length of their relationships) or that you're giving up on marriage; just that you're not going to invest over $1 million in your personal finances as well as metric tons of the worlds resources and 90% of your time and effort on raising an infant.

Anyone want to give me an over view of the conquest arc, The more of it i read the less i give a shit about it and just want to get back to the other MC's
