Solid ending to a great journey. Probably the best/most consistent survival-oriented manga i've read so far. Characterization was great, art was good enough and it improved over time. The survival games were awesome. Kinda wish we'd have seen a bit more of the side characters's future, but oh well, i suppose this was still pretty good. If you haven't read this manga yet, do a favor to yourself and at least give it a try. Series that manage to be this consistent and still end on such a high note are extremely rare. 

Really looking forward to Asou-sensei's next work!

That ending though. I guess it's really tough to get a thoroughly satisfying in series such as this. Just like Liar Game, it just went poot,

While I'm not entirely content with the ending I will say I enjoyed myself quite a bit. The series clearly had the intention to inspire hope and to not find yourself falling into depression, and while it was a slight heavy handed towards the end I can't say I disliked the message. In the end the series was an enjoyable one and I thank those involved for the chance to enjoy the series.

- All of those are what are known as autonomic reflexes, derived from hunger and the need to acquire energy which the most basic form is breathing.
- Sex drive is not an instinct, is an hormonal response, and the act of sex is culturally driven.
- Self sacrifice and altruism are also culturally driven, and while there's extensive ongoing research trying to prove how altruism is biologically driven, NO STUDY HAS BEEN CONCLUSIVE OR SUCCESSFUL IN HUMANS.
- Oh and that's not how sociopathy works at all, to begin with you messed up, a sociopath is socially created, and it characterizes itself for being impulsive and lack of planning, what your argument needs to talk about is about psychopaths, which have the characteristic of displaying unusual amounts for not saying a lack of sympathy towards others.
- sympathy is a byproduct of theory of mind, a basic mental process that allows to recognize others and allocate them attributes to them including those which will help us be sympathetic towards them, however like many theories that explain how we interact with others, theory of mind is part of a developmental process, not part of an instinct.

 
Now get your terminology right.

your "refutations" are all within the definition of "instinct", and it seems you've also apparently never known the definition of "sociopath" either, so you have an attempted argument about semantics that doesnt actually refute anything.

Great Manga, great ending.

Explains enough, but still leaves so much mystery.

Have to say I would want this to be longer, the ending leaves you happy but also kinda empty

Thank you for all the hard work you've done for this great series. This is one series I'm glad I stuck with from the beginning to the end. Even back when scanlations were slowing down for volume 3, this story was always somewhere in thought. Now there is closure to be had.
