That was unconventional! None of the usual comfortable plot conveniences, no obsession with pure, storybook sentiments of true love, but still full of that nineties shojo melodrama. Heavy, but the pace is quick enough that it doesn't get bogged down in the drama. A surprisingly josei-like atmosphere for a shojo manga.
