It's "All Blacks", "All Blacks".
Maybe a research error in the original Japanese. :/
Not actually a Shounen ai, just the art was a little suggestive on occasion, ignoring the art it's a good sports manga, more realistic than most.
I don't get why everyone is giving this manga such a hard time just because it's a shonen ai.
First of all, I don't know if I'm oblivious or stupid but I didn't perceive so BL. It's really tame and it's probably only because of certain pair of side characters that it received that category (yeah you know who).
The art is really good. The backgrounds and sceneries, most of the characters have distinctive designs, and the rugby playing pages look great. I would love to see all that animated (and please include the fantasy rpg parody).
this is the best sport manga i read 2thumbs up
Yoshiki Naruse is a guy
I´m just going to state my thoughts on this:
There´s no hiding it, no hiding the fact that this manga was purely created to attract fujoshis. Unlike other successful fujoshi aimed manga(s) (Kuroko basketball), the author made her intentions waaay too blatant/obvious. Fujoshis aren´t stupid, they never take the "bait" when the bait is there with a huge "Yaoi fudgefest" specifically for them.
And since the regular readers do not enjoy the sexual arousal the boys in this manga constantly showcase, we have a pure fail manga. Not surprised if it got axed going by the ending.
For people defending this manga, saying I didn´t read it, or if I dislike it why did I read it? Learning experience, broadminded, translator´s effort must not go wasted, trying out new stuff, just pick one.
Rating 1/5 (0/5 if possible)
Thank you for the scans and translation Acme and Bakana Haven.
axed. cant say im sorry.
So It's over. I've a few thoughts about it:
A lot of Bromance....
Some of those collisions looked pretty brutal
That Kiwi guy seemed immense! but that might partly be the comparison to a small teenage Japanese boy.
I think this manga depicted the raw nature of sports quite well, crushing defeats, despondency towards training, the elation at small successes and the open camaraderie between the teams without really any of the demonisation that many other sports mangas suffer from.
Though I'm glad it has been completed I'm a little sad that it wasn't longer.
I hope there is a bucket of gold at the end of the rainbow.
not sure why people keep talking about shounen ai they're just teenage lads who enjoy rugby most of the reactions seem fairly realistic for their age and social backgrounds.
considering how rare rugby mangas are this one is actually pretty good
To follow on from #Ironleviathan's comment
Japan are usually somewhere around 15th in the IRB international listings which isn't bad they're kind of restricted a little by a lower average body size than most of the top countries. but they are the top non European descent or Polynesian team.
notably they've won the Asian 5 Nations every year since it started in 2008 and have participated in every world cup since 1987
also they're hosting the World Cup in 2019
When I was reading I had to stop to look and make sure I didn't miss a Shounen-Ai tag somewhere. But looking at it objectively, even if the MC seems a little feminine given his background I think it can be allowed and his act at the end of the match was definitely manly if not a little cheesy.
Yeah they do, it is actually quite popular. Currently Japan is ranked 14th in the International Rugby Board which is pretty good!
This has been said time and times again but seriously.
The characters' body language and manners are just way too feminine for a male. There isn't a hint of guys falling for other guys so this is far from being shounen-ai, or "gay" depending on what you mean by that.
They're definitely different from typical male chars in shounen tagged manga but well.. feminine(male)/masculine(female) =/= homosexual.
Bromance with brenefits.
gayer than xmas for sure.
BTW id love to ask the TLs to drop the "enemy" crap. In sports and in rugby in particular we have opposing teams, not enemies.
This series is so gay I'm farting rainbows when I read it.
i was so happy to read a rugby manga hoping to find something on the line of school wars, and instead.... what is this lame operation of pulling BL fujoshi's prince of tennis fans?
crap.
crap crap crap.
must hold making creepy smile on public ><
Now, the potential for huge numbers of yaoi doujins, on the other hand, is unbelievable. Its like god's gift to yaoi fanartists.
