Colette wa Shinu Koto ni Shita

I've been wondering about that this whole time. I assume they'll leave out the whole kidnapping, imprisonment, and forced marriage thing.

 

I just hope they don't make it one of those annoying arcs where some annoying spoiled goddess comes in and is all like "You're not suited to be with Hades because you're only a human, I should be with him" and then Colette goes through the whole self doubt thinking she's right until someone gives her a pep talk and she realizes the strength of her feelings and/or value to Hades overcome all that yadda yadda yadda.

 

Whenever there's some shoujo manga where the heroine is involved with someone powerful like a magical being or royalty or god etc we always get one of those arcs and they're always the same. It's so annoying.

 

What I'd really like is if Colette is Persephone somehow, like it becomes a nickname the goddesses give her or something. I dunno. I just don't want the rival drama.

I guess she's the first person he's met in ages who treats him like a human being with some worth, so he's going a bit overboard.  I can't see her doing anything but turning him down; the real question is what Lord Hades will do.

The last few chapters have been so diabetes evokingly good that i had to give into checking out the raws as far as volume 8. And I have to say. WHY IS THIS STORY SO SWEET?! Like life has been pretty oboxnious to me lately but when I read this it just makes me feel so happy to be able to read it.. Until i have to return to the real world and sigh.

I got the impression Hades meant that in this universe, souls are reincarnated.  Sort of like,

Die -->  Gradually forget everything in those fields of flowers --> Get recycled into a baby

Very good post by the way ...quite refreshing. It does indeed take some people many years to get to a place where they can even make the first step in beginning to come to terms with things like you spoke of - it was the same for me with my grandfather. It took me 4 years before I could make the first step.

to not tear up when we seen her mother. What happened with her village never really got super delved into but it always made me sorrowful, putting a face to it made it so much more heartbreaking.

She's already had a long time to have to make herself numb or ok with the fact that everyone she ever knew isn't here anymore but I do wonder if she'll ever really get closure for it like she did with her mentor.

I've read another story like this where the main lost all of his family and it took him 12 years from the time it happened to begin to find hope and peace with the fact that he's allowed to live and be around even if they aren't. Ive lost my grandparents but I couldn't imagine not having my nuclear family in either story. Or even the friends she was growing up with.

It doesn't bear thinking about..... but I would hope she can slowly unravel what needs to be with her family. At least in this universe she does have the comfort and certainly of knowing there was a better place they went to despite suffering in the end.
