I think the ending was perfect the way it is.
Interpersonal relationships don't end until they actually cut off ties or one of them dies in real life, so the story doesn't end there in real life either unless that happens.
In the case of this story, it feels like it was cut short due to the limitations of being a one-shot, rather than an attempt at depicting realism or
If it purposely ended with an indeterminate ending like in Foggy Scene in Dining Bar Akira, I would have bloody loved it.
My point is, I was obviously being dramatic to express my frustrations at this story feeling like it wasn't ended properly, buzzkill. (Minus the buzz.)
