Sure, it was referring to an event from the Claymore manga that took place many years before the main story:
The manga dealt more with the aftermath of the experiment, so this doujinshi nicely filled in an untold part of the story. And it was drawn so close to the manga's style. Very well done.
Yeah it was much better than I expected.
