Good! This can be a series!
Well, that was weird... but I read it to the end so I guess it means it's not THAT weird.
because smart people overthink things and come to the conclusion of 'can't' (im not saying this applies to everyone this is simply something ive seen)
It's because when you're acting, you feel really stupid. You feel like you look unnatural and strange and awkward and everyone's watching your flaws. If you're obsessed with seeming cool, it won't work because even if you actually do look cool on stage or film or whatever, you certainly won't feel cool (literally too, because stage lights are really hot). So you have to interpret "stupid" not as intellectually lacking, but more like childish and whimsical and not being afraid to look stupid. Yukiya seemed like a person who was completely preoccupied with looking cool, but in reality he's perfectly willing to drop his coolness and look like a total fool when he's on stage or when his sweets are in danger of being eaten. Kaoru was so afraid of looking stupid that he wouldn't even go outside, but then he was forced to look stupid when Kanna made him run from the cop with her.
Think about it this way: you're memorizing your lines, and when the big performance happens you forget them. How do you feel? Obviously, you feel like an idiot and that everyone in the crowd thinks so too. But does the crowd know you forgot your lines? Nope. They don't know what the script is. An actor obsessed with looking cool and smart would probably stumble now that he's lost his rhythm, and the performance would suffer. But a "stupid" actor would recognize the rift between how he sees himself versus how the audience sees him, and would probably be able to blow off the mistake so that the audience never knew one existed. (This mostly applies to live theater though.)

You need your head filled if you want to 'pretend'. imo
