Oh boy do you not know Japan. This is the cliche cohabitation plot. All the tropes are there. Even if he's her dad she's gonna end up with a father complex bordering on incestuous.

Nope I've read plenty. That's why I'm really, really wary about this. The only reason I'm giving it a chance is because it's josei.

Josei and sometimes shoujo isn't afraid to portray middle schoolers as being active in romance and even sex. So you should be afraid~

People who say things like these are usually the ones who stick through the whole story till the end for some reason.

Look I don't care if it's two middle schoolers fooling around together, but it's a whole different story when it's a middle schooler and someone who's explicitly stated to be old enough to be her father. One is fine, normal, all that. And the other is pedophilia and I'm not cool with it.

This sounds promising, good parent child relationship manga is always nice mmm...

On page 15 he asks himself why he is constantly being thrown  back ten years ago so I assume that MC is not the farther since Shoko has to be around 14 years old. For him to be the farther he must have gotten Kouko pregnant 15 years ago. We know that they broke up 10 years ago so why didn't he know about Shoko. Did Kouko hid her?

I personally hope that there won't be a romance between an middle aged man and an 14 year old middle schooler

If we compare the two characters, we can't assume that she's his daughter, as he seems to be clearly too young for it to have happened.
 
The most reasonable approach would be

 As Kouko seems to be over 40 years old already (just look at her appearance...), while her daughter should be around 14-15, she should've conceived her when she was aged 25+. At this age, people would've already graduated from college, especially women in Japan tend to take shorter courses that enables them to graduate prior to the age of 23.
 
So, to make this setting feasible (for Shouko to be his daughter),  the MC had dated a women some years his senior (would be supported by her calling him Mahiro-kun) during his college days.
However, if they were actually both attending college at the same time and are roughly the same age, she can't be his daughter, as the days when he dated her (during his college time) would be too far in the past to make him a possible father candidate.
 
Also, by normal reasoning, it would've been most likely that Kouko would've become a college dropout if she became pregnant during her college time, which would've practically ruined her life, thus should make her resent the main character enough to not dump her daughter randomly upon him without declaring him to take his father responsibilities for their child.

 
My guess is

that Kouko met the wrong men, resulting in her daughter becoming somewhat afraid of contact with men [no idea if it's abuse or just trauma from another experience], so she dumped her daughter upon the most reliable man she had known back since her earlier days, maybe even going so far as to "cure" her daughter with this effort (I mean she even lied to her that she'd be staying at a female friends house after all)...

But guess what? I may be overthinking things again like in 90% of the cases where my guess went miles away from the authors intentions, usually because they don't seem to like twists or complications in the story and go with the meta-stream
