Description: |
The title character, Maruko, is a nine-year-old third-grade student. She is lazy, disorganized and usually late for school, in strong contrast with her neat and tidy older sister who must share her room with her. Maruko, like many kids, tries to avoid homework and chores, takes advantage of her doting grandfather and squabbles with her sister. Nevertheless, she is a well-meaning child who tries to do good. Other characters include Maruko's classmate and best friend Tama-chan. A fan favorite is Maruko's kind but absent-minded grandfather. Naive and easily tricked, he keeps a pet turtle and loves watching TV with Maruko. When feeling distressed or nostalgic, he spontaneously retreats to a surreal inner world for a few seconds to improvise a sad yet comical haiku about his state of mind.

maybe not gonna read this right now, but still gonna follow it
thank you for bringing back my childhood
This is another manga I've discovered (discovered personally, not in the sense of "the discoverer of!") that really takes me back to emotions I had fifty or so years ago and later forgot. My thanks to Sakuro sensei and Forgotten Scans for bringing it to us. Well done.
the quote I really like from Chibi Maruko chan is from Vol 11: Beatles & Zutleebee.
Fujiki and Nagasawa, a best friend. But since Nagasawa liked Zutleebee, Fujiki's sad because he felt they're not as close as they was before. In a scene, Fujiki started to cry. Nagasawa said to Fujiki, "Don't cry... What's the problem...?". And Fujiki's thought is:
"I'm sad because you don't know that these tears are falling because of you..."
One of the manga's quotes truly etched to my mind till now :')
I really like this manga
