While 'blame the historian' may not be correct it is also the case that there are historians who will tell you that they don't have any real evidence from the period to corroborate many of the accusations against the Borgias. So pointing out that 'Historians have been unable to make a definitive judgement' on a subject is different from saying 'The Historians got it wrong'. It does, though, touch on the fact that we know that a part of politics then and now was propaganda. For instance look at the way Shakespeare portrayed Richard the Third as it is often used as an example of blackening the reputation of one powerful figure to appeal to another (In this case Queen Elizabeth).
IT'S ALIVE!!!
Most of the stuff they did were just accusations though. There was no evidence to back up the incest/poison/whatever.
The story is about the Borgias, so I'm expecting tons of really weird shit to happen. They were famous for being some of the most corrupt people in the Western world, not to mention incest, rape, and more fun stuff.
That wall reminds me of the Earl Cain Hargreaves' collection. As for the intrigue of incest....Not sure if I'm willing to stick around but we'll see...
Also, if people are interested in not so incest but just as much thrill story of Cesare Borgia (or at least a fictional retelling in manga form with sprinkles of historical truths here and there), I recommend Cantarella (Higuri You). It's a delicious tale of an internal fight against light and dark for Cesare Borgia (taking into account the medieval nature as well) with thrills and the art is quite pleasing.
