Bleh. What, we're supposed to like him because he's a bit pitiful? Maybe it'd be cute coming from a six-year-old, but from a teenager, it's just gross. And I can't comprehend the trivial bullshit this girl is swayed by, either. "Oh, the cafe he physically dragged me to against my will is quite nice! Gasp, he actually ate the lunch he demanded that I make for him! And what's this? His parents' neglect has led to his stunted emotional development and I can easily understand him if I try and think of him as an obnoxious child? Swoooooooon!" Jeez, girl, did your experience with senpai mess you up so bad that stuff like this now counts as attractive, for you?

Whatever. I get the trope of liking someone in spite of yourself, but even the most assholish male lead will occasionally show some attractive quality, no matter how insignificant or irrelevant. If the author isn't going to give us that much, I don't know how they expect anyone to care about this supposed romance.
