Eh. This was overdramatic, you'll see when you get to the whole old crush and abusive parents part.

When his old love crush appeared, I was pulling my hair. I thought it was good in a bad way, since it added angst. But how he moved on from the old love to nijiki is not properly explained so it feels like chapters were skipped or the mangaka just wanted us to fill in the blank ourselves.

Didn't feel the chemistry between the two and the art isn't the best either.

By my standards, this isn't a good shoujo. The pace is horrible, the characters are impulsive, the whole plot is so contrived, and their love feels shallow to me.

And yet. It made me feel feels. Even when I read it for the the second time, I felt that tingle in my ears that I feel when I'm moved. I guess that's all that matters in the end.

For some reason, I'd never read this before.  It was really nice, and I recommend it to anyone who likes a feel-good story that isn't cliche and unrealistic.  Just nice, basic people interacting in a good storyline.

Incidentally, the backstory here let the mangaka kind of get two heroines for the price of one--clever move.

And yet that part isn't unrealistic.
I've been coming to really appreciate Yamada Daisy. Does some lovely, heartfelt stuff.
I remember this one, it was actually an interesting read, but I'm still filled with anger when I think about the parents in this manga! I still hate how ridiculous they behave, especially the father of Hourai!
Awww this was so cute :3 Not too long either and a nice conclusion to it >.<
Read this a while back! A really good read if you're into Yamada Daisy's work! <3
