Maybe it's not shown so much in the manga, but there was her blog and webmanga, where she talked about that.

The manga was later serialized in a seinen magazine, so it's not (officially) shonen ai.

I can sorta see the whole Liszt thing... Wish there were more photos of Chopin when he was younger. Maybe his hair was light when he was younger.
