The MC cucking himself was not a particularly good way of creating drama. The worst part is that the author couldn't even follow through and come up with such a bad ending to fix all the melodrama that was created.

It's not a bad manga as the comments here seem to say but a manga that seemed to have gotten the axe and strayed away from its initial goals.

What started out as an interesting romp through stocks and day trading turned into your typical love triangle with the MC "heroically" sacrificing himself for the girl. And then a sudden end where everyone realizes that they are meant for each other and end.

What made this interesting and unique got turned into something horribly bland and uninteresting. As to those comments that this could have been about anything - yes, it could have in the end, but the way the author crammed in that message at the end tells me that he had some sort of revelation that yes, this is about stocks, no seriously.

In the end, I think what failed was the inclusion of real-life stocks with the idea that a girl can foresee these events. What we saw was only her making money, and not of the multiple failures that she would have had, so we are set to believe that she is some kind of god that can foresee the market. It may have helped to create a new world where some of the real-world stocks flow over, and maybe this may have helped in the suspending of the belief that a character like her exists. (Yes, I know he already did Spice and Wolf. I believe a fox girl predicting apple stocks better than a hikkikomori girl to be master of real-world stocks).

So, not a bad ending, but a forced one, due to the author running out of ideas (possible) or the editor decided to change direction of the manga and then failing (also possible).

the ending is so bad. looks like a forced ending :(

Really disappointed in this series by Hasekura Isuna. The drama was unnecessary. The ending felt so fake and illogical. Her love for the MC didn't even seem genuine but very forced just for the sake of a happy ending.

Something that have always annoyed me in mangas, people who don't know their own feelings. I understand that in some mangas the characters are emotionally awkward or emotionally damaged. Yukari has no understanding of those kind of feelings as she's a shut-in and only knows to talk about money. I sort of understand her because of her situation but at the same time she only went out with the glasses guy because Takato put the dude on a freaking pedestal and since she and him had stocks as their main topic. Takato on the other hand annoyed me as he's just dense about everything. I was just completely annoyed when it came to the triangle because it could have been avoided since the two main characters obviously had mutual feelings.

Manga authors need to stop making characters stupid about love and their own feelings. I understand that's mainly for a plot device, but it's quite annoying seriously! I'm pretty dense myself and awkward about things but I at least know what kind of feelings I have and I understand them.

Truth. The manga could've at least fleshed out the ending as well instead of resolving it all in one chapter that was a bit underwhelming. 7/10 cuz Yukari was cute haha.

ugh, I hate reading stuff that even touches on NTR

Pretty clean cut and satisfying ending.

Where the Raw for special chapter ?

:D

So is there an anonymous who will translate the special chapter?

The way the dude basically NTR'd himself in the last few chapters was just horrendously painful. It's a cheap as fuck drama device too.

Just glad I can remove this from my 'to read' list now.

Thank you Kumori for sticking with this.

It was a nice manga, I didn't love the derailment from Stocks to Love but it couldn't be helped, I figure it was tanking in rankings.

All in all, great premise, nice story and if it had been an outright love story from the get go I wouldn't be feeling disappointed but I'm still glad it was translated from start to end.

Argh a bit late to publicize this..

If anyone's interested, World End Economica ep2 and ep3 are getting localized.
It's a Visual Novel by Hasekura-sensei. I was wondering whether it'll ever be fan-translated but looks like it's going farther than that. 16 days left with 250% funding.

Finally, a manga that GETS it...
I dislike how the final chapters were rushed, left a number of plot holes glaring, and how the relationship required the old suspension bridge trope to make it happen.

However, the fact that Yukari was accepted for HER and not for her cash was kind of nice. You don't see it very often in Mangas where the flaws are actually addressed and that the female lead does in fact have a conflict that is not meant to be resolved. The flaw in Her is never actually fixed because it is not something that needs to be fixed. It is rare to see a good manga take what is and then say "Real relationships are about accepting the whole deal. That was why they got together in the end. There was no doubts because they actually communicated. "

Was the manga good overall?
Hell no. In fact, the mangas pacing was all over the place and it pissed me off. The main relationship was only moved when the story dictated it should and did not flow easily. This along with the rushed ending suggest that the author wasn't certain how to proceed. And if you don't know where you are going in writing, you probably shouldn't go at it.

Overall though, what worked was their relationship. They had flaws in their personality and Yukari and tak both grew as a result of their interactions with each other and the other people in the story. Yukari, while having doubts like any normal person would, demonstrated that the easy way out is often the most disastrous for a person. Not because of what material items they loose, but rather because of how they allow themselves to become trapped in what is easy versus what is enjoyable, even if hard. The moral then, is communicated as not trying to appease others, but doing things because you WANT to do it.

Frankly, the inclusion of this little nugget of a moral is kind of a saving grace for the manga. In all aspects it is lackluster and kind of predictable. Switch out a few plot points with other things like "Yukari is a shut in with an account over a billion yen" to something like "Yukari is a shut in and collects stuff" and the main character as "Tutoring her" to "Helping her with her job" and the results can more or less be the same. You still have the love rival involved but for a different reason, you still have trust in each other winning out, and so on. In those important plot aspects, Billionaire girl does not really stand out. What it stands out on is the actual moral play, which is rare in your usual seinen mangas (I am well aware there are exceptions, Those ones are noted and acknowledged, though the vast majority that tell a basic story outweighs the good gems).

So all in all, the actual use of this simple moral play is quite well executed, it was alluded to throughout the story and was addressed best in her ignorance concerning what it is she should do with her money and life, and was brought to a decent conclusion with the lesson is: Do what you love. I want to see that way more than I would ever want to see money.

For that, I give it a moderate approval. It's not the best, but what it does is well enough to receive a note of appreciation.

I feel like I read the end to a bad shoujo manga. And I don't even like good shoujo stuff.

i honestly thought this series had great potential, but the execution was a little lacking and it didn't really take the time to make all of its ideas clear. kind of a shame.

i didn't even knew chapter 16 was released and somehow saw chapter 17 listed at homepage and came right away to read both of them. HAPPY ENDING.

this was human ending . natural and no drama at all.

the proposal and expression of feelings was good too.

dialogues of chapter 17 were good too.

everything is settled and you can feel happiness.

i was thinking when KEI-KUN said those words that YUKARI CHAN understanding them or is already expecting some confession? because dialogues used there were ambiguous regarding confession.

overall it was good to see and YUKARI chan knew KEI-KUN loves her. TASUKU-KUN chose the right thing at last. as KEI-KUN said TASUKU-KUN isn't bad.

I truly enjoyed the manga at the beginning but then well it sort of gotten itself into a bad turn story wise...the main female lead wasn't even a tragic character and was pretending to be a victim in the end...what kind of bs is that!?

I don't really understand why some people say the ending is unsatisfying when it sums up everything. They go out at then end and have fun with everybody else. End of story. Period. Try reading Seven Ocean, Mx0, or the most notorious crappy ending of a manga, Idol Pretender, then you will know what an unsatisfying ending is really like. Of course, people are entitled to their opinions.

I was actually fine with the end to idol pretender. It was rushed but it concluded the way I personally wanted it to.

How dare you bring up that terrible terrible manga Seven Ocean... oh man I still get pissed at that one. Now I feel dirty again. But no you are correct this manga was satisfying it tied up loose ends. The guy GOT the girl he WANTED. There was no NTRing no backstabbing at the last moment no open ended conclusion that made you feel empty or dead inside.  Just because your ship didn't sail doesn't make it a bad ending a bad ending comes from the fact that they kick the main character while their down and STOMP on them or leaving an ending that made the entire story pointless because nothing got solved or completely nullifying the story entirely (it was ALLLL a dream. the end) Trust me this doesn't qualify as a bad ending.

I wish i could say something like
"I can't stop making money"

Your comment felt like a kick to the balls, it made me remember those endings, at least two of them and damnit they were fuc**ng awful , I have not read Idol pretender but if its ending anywhere as bad as those other two then I should never try reading that manga

Thanks to all the people who worked on this manga, these last chapters were not as interesting as those ones at the beginning but despite that I am really glad to be able to read the end of this story, so thank you very much, Kumori,  for saving this manga from the limbo of abandoned mangas.

wow such a BAD BAD ending, seriously.. all this big plot with trading etc and then such a crappy end, good job author

I wouldnt call it a bad ending, it seems more like its an ending with an opening for anything else that can happen for the future if the author wishes to sequal it at all.
