How did I miss such a diamond in the rough? Typical Sorachi with his outrageous jokes and references!
Sorachi Hideaki, the only mangaka that quotes himself, God he is the best!
this is pure gold, Sorachi is one of if not my fav mangaka, just love his material
one of the best one-shot ive ever read.
Somehow this one-shot reminds me of Doraemon... I wonder why?
as you know the author of Beelzebub(Tamura Ryuuhei) and the author of Sket Dance(whoever the author of it is) are both previous assistants of Sorachi, so yeah that's why the other 2 works are based off on GIntama. yep
Atmosk Beelzebub came out a year before this oneshot did. But you're still right about one thing: Beelzebub is somewhat a copycat of Sorachi's work. Not Bankara though, but Gintama's.
The main plot itself of Beelzebub can be interpreted as a rip-off of an arc in Gintama - The arc where Gintoki picked up a baby that looked just like him. Another one is the Alaindelon sword Oga used; Gintama used that first when Gintoki used an old man's body as a sword.
I'm not badmouthing Beelzebub or anything, but if there's a copycat it's Beelzebub.
