Reading few chapters, its really resemble resident evil lol.
I think that's simply because it doesn't really engage you personally. You don't become emotionally invested in any of the characters, because the author doesn't try to pull you in. He's just telling his story, but it's almost like he forgets that there's an audience he's telling it to.
Also, most people don't realize, but bad scanlation, typos and wrong grammar break immersion as well. Watch how you feel when you read a good, engaging manga with proper translation, good enough quality scans and correct grammar as well as proper typesetting. Then compare that to how you feel when you read a good, engaging manga that is badly scanlated... You just don't get pulled in as much or as consistently.

Yeah, I agree. It's the same with the author's other work "Oldman", there is something missing.
I can't quite put my finger on why, but there's something lackluster about this series. :/ It's got pretty great art, decent pacing, a well thought out setting and unique characters, but I feel like there's something important missing here.

Well, it's got the same transliteration. (Chinese is super limited when it comes to that, and 'ai-li-si' is the best they can do.) It's quite possible the kid's name is supposed to be Elise as well.
