Ayahatori Shoukanjou

It almost seems as if there's an entire third act that was completely cut - they get to the second act finale, the protagonist has started to understand her place in the world and the truth of her origins, we've gotten a glimpse into the motivations of the enemy force and the strange machinations and internal politics of the word-weaving family, the villain has shown up with a huge fuck-off dragon to wreak havoc and kidnap the heroine, aaaaaaaaand then he's dead. Everything's fine. The subplot regarding the ideological conflict between the protagonist and the family about how familiars should be treated is dropped. What the villain wanted to achieve or how the hell he even died is probably explained, but the scene is so short and incomprehensible as to be meaningless.

Not to mention the completely unused characters! Date Masamune with a badass/silly gunsword attacks exactly twice, and never actually shoots anything. Mysterious tiny witch Konohana Sakuya stands around with an umbrella, speaks ominously, gets the protagonist to investigate witches even though it turns out to be mostly irrelevant, and shows off her kanji eye tattoo. She doesn't actually do anything, ever. The Chinese boy who wants so badly to be her summoning rival buddy shows up for the final battle, and then immediately disappears from the story, never to be seen again.

When did Komachi's book get dismantled? When was she even told about that?
