MITSUKI is on top of the world when IMAI, her former tutor and sister's friend, agrees to begin dating her. Even with the seven year age gap, she's determined to make it work, even though she hardly ever gets to see him. But her happiness slowly gives way to doubts when a year passes without ever breaking down the barrier she feels between them. Does Imai-san even like her at all? Or is the person he's really in love with her older sister and he's just going out with her because he didn't have the heart to turn her down? Maybe he doesn't take her seriously because she's still in high school? When she's with him, he always seems more of the serious type---but what is this about his playboy past?!

Starts out kind of shaky. Not super convincing when the first few chapters of a romance mostly revolve around insecure crying. Doesn't exactly scream "happy stable couple", you know? Fortunately, as we move into the meat of the story, they- well, they spend a lot of time arguing and feeling desperately lonely in the middle stretch, too. And the ending is mostly about communication failures and uncertainty as well...

Y'know, I never got over how creepy that "Be quiet" moment was. Pretty messed up, especially how it just got kinda brushed off and blamed on her. But I'm sure they'll be really happy together, now that they've fought it all out and grown immeasurably closer as a result of their- they haven't really changed much at all, have they? There's nothing to suggest that they're going to understand each other better, and fight less from now on? Oh. Well then. Our main characters, everybody. Faaaaantastic.

Gorsh, I feel bad for the girlfriend in the second sidestory. From her perspective, some random chick just up and swiped her dude...

ill bookmark it .. because of the side stories.

I liked the side stories (even if I shouldn't like the second much...) more than the main one. All the characters really annoyed me (except for Chizu-chan and her friend).

I probably shouldn't like the side story, but I do anyway.  It's got some tension and conflict to it, makes it sorta smolder.

sudden ending ftw, at least it doesn't drag on.

@monmedel

thx for fixing

ch. 13 seems to be broken?

fixed!~

ch. 13 seems to be broken?

Ch. 12--Nice chapter. Gotta hand it to her on this one.  She's got a difficult situation, and she's not going off on him over it, but she's not closing her eyes and pretending there's nothing to worry about either.  She's standing up for herself (and putting the blame where it belongs).

Spoiler

So maybe she is starting to think now? Would be nice.

Protagonist really isn't too clever.
On one hand, it's oddly realistic--the core conflict is all about the differences in available time and lifestyle between a high school girl and a way-too-many-hours-working young salaryman. This is something that would really put stress on a relationship, much more believable than some of the plot curves we see in lots of romance manga.
On the downside, I can see their actual marriage sucking for exactly the same reason, which isn't very romantic.
Tried reading the first chapter, but it just gets on my nerves. Protagonist too needy, I think.
