To Love-Ru is shounen
Yeah, the start of the series is pretty slow actually (well that's how most series by Yamamura Hajime are after all - not to mention I took a long time to release ch.2 after ch.1) - I've been following the series for almost a year and a half now (15 chapters - 2 volumes in Japan) and I started really enjoying reading the series around ch.5-6, then the series got really slow but picked up some speed starting in ch.11; ch.11-14 being the most interesting so far (haven't read ch.15 yet).
Man, I forgot what happened, not a great start.
So, nipples and blood? It looks shounen so far
I forgot most of what I read in chapter one a few months ago along with why I started following this manga. I read both chapters now and I'm not impressed... currently wondering whether to continue reading or not.

I am pretty sure he doesn't want to protect anything, at this point.

So right off the back you have some cliche's, but the author does well to introduce a dozen questions that immediately grasp your attention. I'll see where this one goes, but I have a feeling it's going to turn out to be a typical shounen with a slowly progressing loser MC.
It's alright, but I get the feeling this is gonna concentrate on that wimpy glasses kid in some weak-to-strong story, so we'll probably have to sit painfully through his self-loathing, crying, must-get-stronger-to-protect phase.
It's fairly interesting. Every situation is comical no matter how serious it is. XD
