Description: Soko starts feeling sick soon after moving to a new city, apparently for no reason. As beautiful as she is, a lot of guys start to bother her, especially Kashi. While trying to rape her, Kashi disappears and after a few days another guy shows up pretending to be Kashi. And everyone but Soko believes him!

He tells her he is Akira the Byakko, from the family of the West. Because she is the reincarnation of Souryo, the queen of the Oni from the family of the East, a monster that eats humans to stay alive, he must destroy her and erase her genes from Earth. He is the only one who can kill her and the one that must do so. Soko is desperate. Is she really a monster? Why does she have human memories? Why does she have to die? Will she be able to change her destiny and stay alive?

I have read until chapter 34, and so far I dislike the main characters for a lot of reasons,

The art, complexity of characters and the main plot are good enough, so It's worth reading so far. But I am quitting now after some very irritating sequences. One day, when my tolerance to annoying things gets better, I intend to continue reading.

With that said, the ending could not have been more harmonious. Good read except the heroine was utterly frustrating in her ambivalence and weak resolve. Except a certain someone could have saved everyone a lot of bloodshed too....Anyways, just as ShadowKat said below, "worth the read for spare time filler" which is honestly what this was for me. I'm glad I skimmed through it because if I read every single line, Soko wouldn't have been more bearable. There are around 3-4 arcs for this story but one might just have to read the first arc and just skip to the last arc which is the most worthwhile and insightful about humanity's destruction.

Also! In response to the comment on the classic shoujo feel.

Vaya! finalmente comenzaron a traducir! qué maravilloso

i'm legit crying someone help me omg i wasn't expecting the ending
I found this to be an enjoyable read. @ alksduo I do agree with you, though I think it might be a little more angsty than most. Also, felt that some drama was almost created for drama's sake or simply due to the heroine's inability to think ahead and indecisiveness which got on my nerves a little. That said, it was worth the read for spare time filler if you have nothing else. I would recommend others though.
I <3 Chie Shinohara... Good story, good characters... A lot better than the stuff we call shoujo these days.
There was so much love poured into scanlating this that I had to read it, but it has such a strong classic-shoujo feel . . .
What with the forbidden love angles and angsty directions towards primal intimacy (which is randomly a vital aspect of their relationship).
It has an interesting concept, but it's nothing I would recommend to anyone.
And the rape-tendencies were a little . . .
