How about Hakase No Kimagure Homunculus? I really recommend that. and yeah as you said, it's been going on a rollercoaster of a drama. Well, I'm happy they're digging deep into the characters and all, but we lack the fluffy slice of life that I enjoy so much. I'm not sure how much more drama I can take xD
As of tonight this is one of the rare things I've unfollowed - not because it's bad, just because I ended up getting two new chapters and realized I no longer even cared.
The art was always marginal, but that was okay because it was fluffy and cute. But starting with the moving to New York thing it's just been DRAAAMAAAA (with the occasional old flash of brilliance) and the author is not good at DRAAAMAAAA at all. If you still enjoy it, more power to you, but if you're just looking for cute fuwafuwa you could be reading Yakumo-san wa Edzuke ga Shitai, AniTomo, Komi-san, or Ninja Shinobu-San. So many choices.
Does the mangaka have something against autumn...?

Ahhh.... now I know why there was no romantic focus early on. This author's really not good at it.
This sure has taken a weird turn.
I get that he's been through some tough family problems, but he could have at least showed the slightest hint of sympathy or tried to comfort her--you know, like a decent human being.
