So is this a cohesive story or a collection of disjoint shorts? At the bottom of the last page of the first chapter is the word "Fin". The titile of the 3'rd chapter, "Let us only" looks like a reference to a theme from "Honeymoon Salad" (ch40, p31).
Ninomiya sensei does like to tangle things up.

Well I felt kind bad for the father, not much about him was showed and what was showed made me think that he was one of those cold and distant fathers and husbands but I still felt bad for the guy. The girl has a long future ahead and if she can get over the past she can make a good life , her father not so much, he is old, alone and ruined, not a merry fate that is for sure. Anyway thanks for the chapter, Ninomiya Hikaru´s works are always amazing.

Interesting first chapter. The mother is quite the character, I think she's sort of one of those who can't seem to be happy no matter what's happening.
