Description: Princess Rosely’s fate was sealed when she first picked up a sword trying to kill an evil wizard. Little did she know the legendary Lucilys, Sword of Light, had chosen her to be its heiress. That also meant her peaceful life in the castle of Altodias would no longer be the same. Soon, the young princess encounters the pain of losing all the people that she loved, and being separated from her twin brother Rolant, the heir of Silvan, the Sword of the Moon. Rosely would have been even dead floating in a cold river if she had not been saved by a handsome green-eyed king of the Alf. Growing up as his foster daughter in Alfheim, Rosely learns magic and martial arts from the Alf, only waiting for the day she can avenge for her lost country. Will she be able to fulfill her will? What does the fatal sword Lucilys have in store for her? Will resentment drive her into insanity? Who was the one behind all her misfortunes? And who could have been the chosen owner of Soles - Sword of Sunshine, the third one in three ancient magic swords? This fantastic tale will make you want to believe in fairies again!

Happy I found this classic shoujo ^^ it kind of reminds me of Princess

Thanks for the chapters!

Uh, not to be rude, but chapter 29 was just uploaded again as chapter 30... Just saying.

It was the other way, ch 30 was uploaded as ch 29 before, but it's fixed now.

Meanwhile, I can't resist:  Altoidias, ancient land protected by curiously strong mints.

Just started it, and found it due to Friendship Scans.  They rock, so I decided to try it. It's a really good story, and I like the older style art (a joke, since I'm 'way' older than this art style), and I love stories that have historically accurate elves (the real medieval kind, instead of the silly, "cool" elves of modern fantasy fiction).  I'm definitely looking forward to more of it.  Thanks, Friendship Scans, you folks always seem to choose excellent stories.

Poor Tolkien must have been rather taken aback at what he'd started--and at that, he died before the genre really got to full swing.

Oh, yay! I'm glad to see this being continued after almost a year. Thank you Friendship Scans!

Haha it'll take a few years to reach fluency in Japanese I can only read Chinese right now

I'm super grateful for the scanlation. 54 volumes is intimidating. Please don't drop this project. I've been searching for this series for a long time. Thank you so much.

You have better chances to learn japanese and read it yourself, rather than see it fully scanlated. Just saying.

The Overly Attached Longcat freaks me out every time I get to the end of a chapter...

Hooray! Someone's translating this one. Classic shoujo is the best.

Seriously, classic shoujos are always the best. I've read a lot of shoujos aka I'm a shoujo/josei reader and most if not all of my favorites are the classics with a few exceptional mangakas' stories that have made themselves stand out in this modern age.

Dude, 54 volumes is no joke. That's intimidating to read, little less scantlate it!

Much props for Friendship Scans for taking on this huge project. ^_^

Seriously, why compare them? This is an older shoujo-romance-fantasy-tragedy, if you compare it to your shounen pseudo-fantasy expecting them to be the same, of course you're going to be disappointed. Why did you even read this in the first place?

Because there is no cure for stupid.

Okay, I don't watch SAO, but why people keep comparing this to SAO, even said it's 'decultured version of SAO'?
This is classic shoujo manga, it was published decades ago before SAO, and obviously aimed at different audience
Lol, it's SAO gone horribly wrong :P
...
bleh ... some decultured version from SAO ?
Ugh. I thought this was the sequel to Sword Art.
Alfheim? Alfheim Online (ALO)?
Those eyes look creepy as hell.

Lovely
this thing is 54 volumes long and the fact that it started in 1987 means each chapter will be fairly dense. this is going to take a while to scanlate
