they were definitely meant to be the central characters as a duo
and then everything went down the drain
Oh man, this went from really interesting and well drawn to something that literally looks and reads like a poor immitation of itself. I understand that the author left and the artist took over but that's not a reason for the art to become crappy ALONG WITH the story. Ugh. Such a waste.

That explains why the last few chapters have been rather weak and annoying to read.
It feels like the artist just wants to draw only action scenes, and added in random Ajin allies for the bad guy to show off.
I mean as previously stated, why the hell was his shotgun carried along with him on the stretcher? And what the fuck happened to Kai??

I guess that explains why the main character is so strange... At first I thought it was just poor writing that the protagonist's actions seemed neither based on logic or emotion until the author seemingly directly suggested that he is in fact some type of sociopath.
It does make me wonder what direction the series could possibly take with that kind of main character. It actually would be strange and illogical for him to make a 180 turn around since sociopathy doesn't really work like that.
Yeah, the author left midway in the project. Then the artist took over the plot and that's when the main protagonist started being made intoa sociopath.

It's kind of like an inverse Ajin, the whole world is full of people who can't die, and the protagonists are a small group of "normal" humans who are being hunted down.
I bring this up because one of the main things in that manga is that the main character constantly shoots to would and cripple people, because if she goes for lethal shots they immediately regenerate completely. So she keeps going for limbs and stuff.
I could swear I read somewhere that the author left the project and the artist is now handling the story as well. That might account for some of the inconsistencies in the the newer chapters. However, I've been unable to find this post again. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
