I've found Ad Astra pretty interesting so far. I'm going to miss this.

As to the talk of Hayate and plot, I think there, Hata-sensei feels that HnG should primarily be a gag manga. As such, the plot often gets put on the back burner for gag chapters, or is slowed because the plot story has to be infused with gags. I've got no problem with the gag humor, and I think it works nicely in AAPA.

I have to say that the empire is acting a little suspect. Firstly they employ child soldiers, even going so far as to conduct research on them for military gains. To make matters worse they don't even pay these so called soldiers enough, which forces their families to steal in order to survive. Secondly the empire has openly partaken in the destruction of a unique ecosystem and have failed in representing an adequate reason as to why this occurred. Are we really to believe that a mere 15 year old earthling is capable of such destruction. The third, and maybe most damming, thing is that the empire that claims to be supporting peace and the people have helped fund known terrorists. Terrorists that then later that day somehow escaped from the most secure place in the solar system. Now I ain't someone who enjoys falsely accusing people of betraying the empire, but this all seems a tad bit suspect. Not once but twice now have they been unable to apprehend a 15 year old boy, even though they have had the full military might of the solar system at their disposal. Maybe they want him to escape, want him to continue his horrendous attacks against the people. If would certainly be a good reason to put some extra funding into the military, and could be used as an excuse to quell local uprisings. Or this might just be the beginning of an even larger revolution, an attack from the sol branch directed against the emperor himself! Whatever it is I am not trusting those bastards at the top. They are too involved in all of this to be completely clean.

I expected this to be a complete piece of crap. I don't know why, I just did.

Instead, I got an interesting story, sincere laughs, a bit of feels, and likable characters. I can't wait for part 2!

Plot never died in Hayate no Gotoku, people just became Lazy and decided not to wait anymore. I don't even get why you people want a series to reach it's conclusion so fast.

this one is published in monthly magazine, so rest assure that we won't have to waste 300 months for plotless series be cause the author won't last that long. but if its just 100 months plotless then it might be possible...

ps: Hayate no Gotoku does have a plot,unlike Nisekoi, its plot are steadily going forward too. but the author always came up with side characters development chapter[50~70%of all time] so the main plot are rather hard to see.
