welp completed..just found this manga and hori..

edit : not bad, just character they have just annoying, something piss me off

Sad he didn't end up with best girl.

Hmm, for once, all 4 girls in this manga are great, so i don't mind.

And it was obvious he would never be with Aoi.

1st, she never liked him.

2nd, her (rare) real friends were much more important to her than romance.

3rd, she's a really nice girl, as you can see it with how much she helped Haruka.

Haruka got a happy romance ending with Tomonaga, she deserved it for never giving up.

Tohno got a happy romance ending with Onada, and she deserved it too for being persistant, even with the age difference .

Aoi got a happy ending , she's finally free from her torments, she did what she wanted and don't need to lie anymore, and still is probably BestFriendforever with the other girls.

And Aoi get her  2d love. (yeah ok, maybe we miss her ending)

(No guys, it's NOT a open ending ,we know who end with who and all problems are resolved, it's over)

I kind of hope that Haruka doesn't end up with Tomonaga. Yes, she would get what she wanted, but not really what she deserved. In the end for him, she was just an afterthought. I think her model friends gave great advice about working hard to show what a wonderful woman he missed out on.

I generally enjoyed reading, but overall I felt like there was a lot of depth missing in the story. Things resolved too easily (like Touko and Aoi's respective family issues) or weirdly shallow relationships that were given a lot of weight for no apparent reason (Tomonaga with Yurine). I think the deepest moment for me was the scene with Haruka and Aoi, when the truth is revealed. Other than that, a lot of threads seemed to be added without really going anywhere.

Bull. Obviously the Otaku girl got Haruka's little brother (who is a "white knight" style character just her type xP ) and her manga deal. She'll get her best ending they just chose not to cover it.

Never the less the ending was sweet and concise so I'm fine with how it ended.

Pretty sure you can see Aoi with Haruka's bro at the last chapter page 24. With all those pictures, they're walking together which could be hinting at them together. She did end up tutoring Haruka at the end and eating dinner with them everyday. So it's possible.

Worth the read, really liked it. I'm not really sure how to feel about the ending, really.

Spoiler

Regardless, thanks Vexed Scans. You guys are definitely my favourite group.

Worth a read though the last minute pairing feels unnatural.

Sad he didn't end up with best girl.

I loved this ^^ Glad I read this now that it's completed, some of the chapters would've left me dying otherwise! For a moment I thought I wasn't going to like this because I was rooting for a certain someone all the way, got worried they weren't going to end together but I'm glad I got what I wanted ^^

After re-reading i got conclusion, Tomonaga and haruka is going out after that.

the omake make it more obvious,

but poor tomonaga, he get dumped twice in the entire series even thought he is MC.

LOL @ most developed romance being Tohno & Onoda, it was a questionable relationship but definitely the most dramatic.  Sparks flying everywhere in some scenes.  Even then I have to acknowledge that it is also the most completely depicted, after all....

Spoiler

Satisfying ending, but dammit, I want MOAR.

okay, cool and smart Male MC with a lot of unnecessary details

Satisfying ending, rare to see something like this.

This is for me is one of the best romance story that i really enjoy to read ... yeah really good seinen approach even though it just more bittersweet ending more than reality .. student-teacher relationship .. and about Yurine, yeah i think it was bad why she not trying to fight for her relationship with tomonaga ? if she really loves him then i think it was obvious, but instead she just keep herself in the distance ...

Touko Tohno i think really aggresive ... yeah, and sure it was fun to see her relationship with his teacher at last really works ...

And about Haruka really great that her determination to become a great model and make tomonaga fall for her .. yeah it was a great way .. even though mostly what happen we tend to forget about it, and finding some new love .. yeah .. just my cent but really enjoy this manga will ya ? :)

Jeez, what's with the pillows reference being the final chapter title all of a sudden after the series title drop?

Also, that ending... I-I can't... Wh-WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOOOOOOOOOR

God, thank you for all your work over the years, Vexed Scans. I never imagined that when I finished reading this series I would be older than the protagonist.

Hmm, your interpretation is fine, but I still think that even despite that seemingly cold reunion, his line about "as for how we ended up after that... Well, that's a story for another time." leaves plenty of room for them to have developed a relationship. Him forgetting her name after years of no contact shouldn't be too surprising, considering they were never as involved with one another as he was with Hirose, but it doesn't necessarily mean Haruka had no chance with him after that point. Also, it shouldn't be expected of Haruka to attend a scientific conference hosting intellectual minds on a topic she has absolutely no interest in simply to see her friend (and if her relationship with Tomonaga were on the rocks, as implied by the last page, they certainly wouldn't attend together). To me, that exchange seems like "she's not with me because we're fighting, and yep, I need your advice." I'm not saying it's necessarily one or the other, but if the ending is truly open-ended as you claim it is, I don't see why you can't agree that he might have ended up with Haruka. At that point you're just forcing your own interpretation onto the manga. On another note, I think that the last panel of the omake is implicative of the eventual relationship between Tomonaga and Haruka.

And here we see the true moral of the story. Otaku get no ending ;-;

Bull. Obviously the Otaku girl got Haruka's little brother (who is a "white knight" style character just her type xP ) and her manga deal. She'll get her best ending they just chose not to cover it.

Never the less the ending was sweet and concise so I'm fine with how it ended.

the only one who really got everything he wanted was the goatee sensei. i mean come on, he did 2 of his students, the first one he only had to find a new teaching position as consequence. the second one he didnt face any consequence at all. he even got her pregnant. and he was the one who was preaching morals towards the MC. everything started out ok but got kinda fked up during the middle til the end.

That was a pretty good ending. We got an ending to almost everything that needed to be concluded, and still leaving much to be desired.

Big thanks to the translators and the authors for this series, it was a great read!

Great, lowkey ending to a geat, lowkey series. Ups to the translation team.

I'll be honest, I just skipped to the last two chapters and I feel like I understood the whole story.

-snip-

Maybe I'm just used to worse comments on worse characters.

I always hate it when romance gets slapped onto something because someone needs to tick a box. Concerning his character, this ticked box did actually nothing to him and his little development. Yes it did influence other characters but that ending made actually no sense for the story about him.

Your points actually all make a lot of sense, but pretty much only for everyone except for him. Apart from him everyone does have a more prominent influence on this kind of progression and outcome. To me he just feels... pointless. And that ending more like catering to the shippers than anything else.

:')

How is everyone OK with that main character?

let's summarize...

Spoiler

I've seen a lot of bad shoujo mains, but at least even those tend to change at some point. this guy did not change in any way on the relationship level, so giving him any kind of girl is just arbitrary nonsense to please the audience/

Spoiler

well, at least the actual story was good.

That's kind of the point.  The point of the manga is that the difference between children and (good) adults is prudence.  Very often the right thing is doing nothing.

End of Series spoilers.

Spoiler

NOOOOO!! I was rooting for Yurine. It will be a good story too! A drunkard wife (in the past), and a researcher husband. It was so interesting!! Damn it!!
