oh...look..an update for another languange for the manga i never knew it's exist until now and it's from a real case this time.....read the "BIG WARNING" and read the comment section...then i'm choose not to read it and stop here....i'm just finished reading "Oyasumi Punpun" yesterday...my heart cann't take anymore tragedy, drama, psychological and slice of life  in one manga....ever again...orz

I read the manga, heard that it was made on a real case.

I found information on the real case and could say that the reality is 100X worst than the manga.

And now i am just like :o, how the fuck these murder don't have the death sentence after so much.

I barely felt anything reading this, it's nowhere near the real deal. In fact, I find it highly disrespectful to the real person who died, to exclude the more inhuman abuse committed. What they did to her was much more brutal than in this manga, it doesn't even come close. Secondly, when the twin sister gets to "scold" Hiroki for his acts in the end; way too romanticized. I'd say keep the story real to the core, if you truly wish to show the increasing juvenile brutality and the problem of "child prosecution".

The point of this manga wasn't to talk about what specifically happened to Sachiko, it was about the people who were affected by the crime. Miki and Hiroki were the main characters, not Sachiko. It would detract from the issues of motivation, guilt, and blame if the story was cluttered up with shocking and gory details of Sachiko's torment. It is enough to know she was horribly abused.
Also, at the end

Overall, I thought it was a good story. Definitely worth reading.

This manga is brutal.

Dafuq too many brain cells died after reading the end... I need to read something funny!

After reading the summary I am definitely not reading this. I'd probably get way too frustrated to get to the end, I'd rather get away from reality for a bit and read something like Akumetsu instead.

I'm surprised how honest this Manga is.

The bad Guys didn't "get it coming" to them in the end. No one really showed any genuine Form of Guilt. Even the Main Character only wanted it to be over with for his own convenience.

Tough read.  Even though the true story ended how these things often do in real life, I'm relieved the manga didn't go there.

I took the whole story as a condemnation of a society where people are so selfish they wont risk personal loss to prevent such a horrible crime from happening. We know rape exists and the act is evil what about letting it happen when you have the ability to stop it?   So many people could have saved her but didn't.

I read the comments and the actual case before starting reading. Five chapters into it, I'm stopping.

But hey, it's my 2 cents. You might enjoy it, as in a morbid curiosity kind of enjoy.

On that one point:

This is the reason that I support the death penalty.  If that bastard had been put to death for his earlier crime, that other woman would never have been hurt by him.  Capital punishment eliminates any possibility of recidivism!!!

Just wish there was something that could be done about set-ups. :/

Otherwise it would be wicked if we could abandon morals in regards to the capital punishment and advance science on the most abhorrent ones.

Spoiler for the faint of heart.

Anyone can tell me, is this just drawing? or manga? if it's manga, can you tell me what title?

In reall life most of those guys are out of jail now. I wish someone would go out and do some real vigilante justice on them'(Rape and severe mutilation). They clearly haven't learned their lesson yet even after the little jailtime they got. One of them is back in prison because he assaulted another female.

it's human nature that he is scared well now that this happened to his friend backing out from this seems impossible for him, that's why i wonder how this will turn out in the end.
It's frustrating watching the one guy who actually feels guilty about it, I understand that he is affraid of those other guys, but still....
i've read a few chapters at the begining and last few chapters and even though i know this is disgusting what they did to her i kind of pity hiroko or how he was called who got caught in all of this
Darn... someone rescue her already > _ <
@annihilator

So you don't watch law and order special victoms unit? This manga is a true story, It's supposed to be horrible and terrible because the crime is just that.
i didn't continue to read it.. it just made me sick...

rape.. no matter what or how it's done or portrayed.. is wrong.

its horrible and inhumane..

death is not even enough for a punishment!
@theroadstopshere: There is also another Manga based on this true story, but that one didn't

.
Sadly I forgotten the name of that manga, as I read it years ago.
dull
"a rotten apple spoils a barrel"
if the earth is a barrel then its impossible to tell if humanity has "improved"
After knowing the true story it is based on, I refuse to read this manga. Not because it would be too disgusting for me, but because it doesn't tell the full story.
Spoiler

Honestly, its events like this that make you wonder how far or whether humanity has improved at all.
