Not bad. As I do like the rare family-centered, and more realistic stories I'm looking forward to seeing more of this.

Maybe I lack the right cultural lens, but Belle just seems totally awful to me.

Don't blame you - she's fairly shallow. It's one of those characters you have to "get" in order to sympathize with even a little.

Basically she has no idea what she wants in life, but also doesn't want to just go with the flow either (ie. marriage) and ends up irritated because of that. Then she gets all upset when guy she's attached to seemingly goes off without her, leaving her alone. So Belle figures that she'll try to break things off first so that she doesn't feel pathetic, and runs around trying to score a husband more as a way to assure herself of her self-worth than it really is to get back at Beau.

Certainly not a stellar example of a human being, but she is a normal one.

Actually, I think Rok's worse in terms of right and wrong behaviours. She dates a guy for half a year, but abruptly breaks things off for something that is normal between couples and shuts him out completely and one-sidedly. She may be easier to sympathize with since she visibly has issues surrounding relationships, and is a teenager. Also more responsible. Rok's issues could very well cripple her for life, so it'll be good that she works through them.

This is not manga, but manhwa, for those of you trying to figure out why it reads left to right.  Morim Kang is Korean.

It's ok.
